Hershey Launches Own Line of Nutella Chocolate Spread

With all the Sriracha talk lately, we almost forgot about our little buddy Nutella. Over the past five years, Nutella’s U.S. sales have swelled to over $240 million, according to the Associated Press, and it looks like Hershey Co. is officially trying to get in on some of that sweet, sweet choco-lovin’, with a new a line of three chocolate-flavored spreads.

Like Nutella, Hershey’s Spreads in chocolate, chocolate with almond, and chocolate with hazelnut are loaded with sugar and calories (up to 200 calories and 21 grams of sugar for the almond version), and are probably exceptionally delicious, especially when slathered atop toast, fruits, and all varieties of frozen dairy. Is it Valentine’s Day yet?

New Hershey’s Spreads are currently available in retail stores for $3.79 or on Amazon, with an 8-Pack of 13 Ounce Jars for $33.23.

Official Nutella Cookbook, As If You Didn’t Know Every Way to Eat It Already

Nutella. Food of the Gods. Chocolate gold. Basically, the best freakin’ thing you can buy in a jar. Apparently, there are other ways to eat this chocolate hazelnut spread than solo with a spoon. . .

Yeah, I was pretty surprised too, but let’s not kid ourselves. About 95% of Nutella lovers out there go ham on the stuff, as seen above.

Well, Ferrero, creators of Nutella, have had enough and want you to be more creative with their chocolicious product, which is why they are releasing an official Nutella cookbook.

Shaped like the iconic jar, Nutella: The 30 Best Recipes, is a book full of sweet treats to impress your dinner guests. Nutella cheesecakes, macaroons, mousse, and many more delectable desserts will be at your fingertips.

Just remember that baking takes time and patience. So if you can’t wait an hour to make your DIY Nutella creation, maybe you should just stick to siphoning it from the jar with a straw.

What? Don’t act like you haven’t thought about it.

Three Words: Ferrero Rocher Brownies

Ferrero Rocher Brownies

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so I’m gonna dare everyone reading this to give your moms the ultimate gift this year by whipping up a batch of these (before next next Saturday night) and not eating them all in a single go.

Now, I realize it’s going to be hard. But Dommm, you’re probably thinking, they’re Ferrero Rocher-Stuffed Brownies! I don’t think you understand how important that is. — Trust me when I say I do. It’s a hazelnut blanketed in Nutella surrounded by a crispy wafer coated in chocolate and nuts, and baked into a bittersweet chocolate brownie, for Pete’s sake.

But that’s why it’s so important that you make these for her and only her. Imagine when you finally hand your specially gift-wrapped, delicious-smelling package over. She’ll take one bite and wonder how anyone could have ever let a single one of these darlings out of their sight for a single second. In her eyes, they’ll become just as precious as you used to be!

Go on, do it because you care.

Recipe available at Becca Bakes.

The Nutella Tax Got You Down? Make This Homemade Nutella Recipe for Cheap

If you live in France, or are deeply invested in the foreign affairs of Nutella, you may have heard that a recent bill was passed that would heavily tax palm oil. As a result, this would increase the cost of Nutella (as it is made up of 20% palm oil) for our French friends. Luckily for the U.S., this doesn’t really affect sales here … but you never know what could happen.

So, if you want to avoid a future Nutellapocalypse- check out this tasty recipe to make your own chocolate hazelnut spread at home, and avoid the pricy cost of the pre-made stuff.

All that’s required are some hazelnuts (ah duh), chocolate, vegetable oil, cocoa powder, confectioner’s sugar, vanilla extract, and a lot of time on your hands.

Bake and chop the hazelnuts, melt some chocolate, combine together with the other ingredients- and voila! It’s a lot easier than you think, so start stocking up on jars, or just get a little weird and smear it all over yourself at your leisure.

How To Make Ferrero Rocher Cupcakes

A friend of mine has a recurring dream where he’s nude and frolicking in a sea of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. After calling him a smutty vulgarian, I had to admit that swimming in a sea of coco hazelnut goodness sounded absolutely scintillating.

And come on, who doesn’t adore those spheres of wafer perfection encrusted with roasted hazelnuts, filled with sumptuous hazelnut cream and doused in the most heavenly of milk chocolates? Bottomline: Either you love them or you’re a horrid misanthrope who lives off Marmite and carrots.

However, if you’re part of the sensible majority, then you’ll love these Ferrero Rocher cupcakes from Michelle, the lovely lady behind Une-Deux Senses. The recipe calls for dark chocolate wafers, Nutella and Ferrero Rocher chocolate, among other things. The result is overwhelming cocoa luxury.
