Show Off Your Baking Skills and Inner Nerd With Geeky Sprinkles

geeky sprinkles

Fandoms are growing everyday with even more products being developed to appease our nerdy needs. From Doctor Who kitchen gadgets to Harry Potter teas we geeks want to incorporate our ships and feels into our daily lives. Tara Theoharis, creator of Geeky Hostess and fellow nerdling has created a Kickstarter to help fund the creation of Geeky Sprinkles.

Theoharis describes her product as “fun sprinkle shapes for geeky baking”, with a Doctor Who Police Box, Steampunk Gears, and a Lightning Bolt that could appease both super hero enthusiasts and Harry Potter fans alike, the Geeky Hostess has definitely found a niche in the fandom baking market. Besides professional fandom specialty bakers such as Nerdache Cakes possibly using these untraditional sprinkles, amateurs would undoubtedly bust out these Geeky Sprinkles for their next fandom party. Yes, nerds have a social life too, we like to have parties to mourn our Doctor or have random theme parties year round, don’t hate.

Until Theoharis hits her project goal the only way to get her Geeky Sprinkles is to pledge your support of her nerdy endeavor. For $12 you have your pick of one of the three Geeky Sprinkle options but bump that pledge up to $20 and you’ll get the full set.

The Coolest Way to Brew Tea in All of Time and Space is With This TARDIS Tea Infuser

tardis-tea-infuser-header-600x514

With all this Doctor Who 50th Anniversary talk how could we not mention this sweet TARDIS Tea Infuser? Designed as a metal replica of the Doctor’s beloved spaceship the infuser steeps your favorite loose leaf tea Whovian style. Unfortunately, the infuser doesn’t make the TARDIS’ traditional “whoosh” sound as it brews the tea. Bummer.

Simply pop open the top of the TARDIS, drop in some tea leaves, and let the TARDIS go to work in a cup of hot water. We suggest pairing the TARDIS Tea Infuser with some TARDIS tea, served in a TARDIS mug. No, don’t talk crazy, there’s no such thing as being too nerdy when it comes to tea.

Don’t worry about your infuser getting lost in your mug, the Sonic Screwdriver at the end will hold your TARDIS in place.

Old NES Cartridges Refurbished Into Boozy Flasks

drunk-hunt1

Over twenty years ago the Nintendo Entertainment System was the console to have. Fast forward to 2013, cartridges are considered ancient in the gaming world with CDs and downloadable software replacing these once great rectangular relics. With technology constantly evolving, what’s a gamer to do with their old NES games? Turn them into flasks, of course.nes-flasks-2

Some fellas over at Ink Whiskey have designed the perfect way to pay homage to your beloved NES games, while also making them into practical flasks. The Ink Whiskey Concealable Entertainment flask is adorned with parody labels of some of Nintendo’s most famous games. The cartridge is about the size of your run-of-the-mill flask and slips easily into a back pocket. These dudes even took it to the next level and decided to conceal the cap as part of the cartridge.

Ink Whiskey developed a Kickstarter campaign for this throwback project and with less than two days left to go they’re already overfunded. Their website states that the store will be open soon, so you too can sip some Grey Goose out of a Castle Vodka flask. If you just can’t wait, you can guarantee yourself first dibs on an Ink Whiskey Concealable Entertainment Flask by supporting Ink Whiskey’s Kickstarter for $15.

Fight Hunger by Moonlight with Sailor Moon Chopsticks

sailormoon1

As much as we’d love to believe otherwise, there really isn’t any room in our healthy, adjusted adult lives for Sailor Moon toys. Luckily, these gorgeous Sailor Moon-inspired chopsticks by Bandai aren’t toys — they’re dining utensils!

Now you can pig out on your favorite odango (dumplings) with the same magical scepters used by your favorite odango-atama (“dumpling-head”). The pink wooden accoutrements come with three different toppers: Sailor Moon’s “Moon Stick,” from the first season; the “Cutie Moon Rod,” from the second season; and Sailor Mini-Moon’s “Pink Moon Stick,” from the third season.

sailormoon2

Best of all, each topper can be removed, so you can totally throw the chopsticks in the washer while you go off to talk to cats, twirl around naked for 30 seconds, and throw sparkly confetti at bad guys.

Sailor Moon Chopsticks: available online from Bandai for $15 each; delivery expected for March.
