Futurama Inspired Burger Delivery System Shoots Orders at 87MPH via Pneumatic Tubes

Pneumatic Tubes

Talk about fast food.

New Zealand based C1 Espresso Cafe is currently testing a pneumatic tube delivery system to deliver orders to customers at 87 MPH. Looking like something out of a Futurama cartoon, the restaurant already uses the tube system to deliver orders to the kitchen. Cafe owner Sam Chofskey has already begun testing burger launching across the restaurant to ensure everything is in order before they debut the new system to customers in January.

Customers can watch their order shoot through the air via the clear tube delivery system. The food canisters will be stainless steel and will be computer locked until it arrives safely at the table. Each tube will hold three sliders stacked on top of each other and a small order of fries. Because the tubes are traveling as fast as 87 MPH extensive testing must be done to ensure tubes travel safely throughout the restaurant. Air brakes and air-pressure pockets have also been incorporated in to the system to slow down the canister as it gets close to its table destination.

Only six tables will have the tube delivery capability at first with more tubes being installed over the next year.

From Duff Beer to Butterbeer, a Comprehensive Illustration of Fictional Brews [Infographic]

fictional-brews

If you’re a fan of fictional alcoholic beverages from years back (nostalgia alert), here’s a comprehensive illustration of “Fantastical Fictive Beers.” The poster features everything from Homer’s go-to Duff Beer to Family Guy’s Pawtucket Pat to the famous Alamo brew Hank Hill is seen sporting in Arlen, Texas. Pretty much any drink from a fictional movie, sitcom, or TV show you can think of, it’s on here.

Beer Group 1

Probably one of the best things about the graphic is that it delves deep into our childhoods. They’ve got  the late-great Mission Hill’s Gruber Hof, Mudder’s Milk from the Jaynestown episode of Firefly and even Samuel Jackson from a sketch during the Chappelle’s Show era.

And then you have the more recently popular drinks like (Spoiler Alert) late Hank Schrader’s Schraderbrau and the wizarding world’s Butterbeer. The amount of pop culture research and design that went into this graphic is absolutely ridiculous and most definitely appreciated by yours truly.

Of course, I can’t mention Samuel Jackson Beer without this beautiful NSFW clip.

The print is available at 18×24 for $28.

Go On a Bender with Bender: Mom’s Robot Oil from Futurama

oil

Futurama fans know that the show’s robot characters are just as capable of chugging alcoholic brews as their human co-stars. But what about human viewers at home who want the chance to go on a bender with Bender?

Luckily, the people over at The Insatiable Geek have it covered, with a recipe for Mom’s Robot Oil that combines dark beer and Jagermeister to create the perfect alcoholic concoction. On Futurama, Mom’s Robot Oil is advertised as containing ten percent more love than other leading brands. We’re pretty sure that The Insatiable Geek’s version has at least that much love, plus the added bonus of personal connection with an animated robot.

Best served in a tin can with some popcorn and a Hulu+ account.
