Taco Bell Flips Breakfast Inside Out With Their NEW Naked Egg Taco

Earlier this year, Taco Bell showcased one of the most revolutionary menu items ever created when it began testing the Naked Egg Taco, a breakfast taco held together with a fried egg shell. Now, starting August 31, the Naked Egg Taco will become a limited time offer on Taco Bell menus across the nation.   

Taco Bell fans went crazy after tasting this game-changing breakfast item for the first time back in April, and we can see why — it’s filled with deliciously crispy potatoes, your choice of bacon or sausage, and melty cheese.

Still, developing a fried egg shell for this reinvented breakfast staple is a perfect example of Taco Bell sitting on the cutting edge of culinary innovation and experience, a mission that Liz Matthews, Chief Food Innovation Officer at Taco Bell, plans to accomplish.

“Shell innovation is at the core of where we experiment—whether it’s crispy chicken, biscuits, or waffles that wrap up menu item classics,” Matthews said. “We bring our fans crave-able and unexpected food experiences that leave them wanting more.”

Adding to a list of already unforgettable brand experiences across the nation — like the Taco Bell Cantinas that offer full-on wedding services — Taco Bell is now putting restaurant reservations on the table.

On August 17, Taco Bell and OpenTable will give fans in select cities a chance to reserve a table for “Bell & Breakfast,” a brunch-themed event featuring the Naked Egg Taco prior to its official launch on August 31.

Better mark your calendars for breakfast Taco Bell-style.

For specs on The Bubba, picture a fluffy biscuit filled with beer-battered fried chicken, then baked with thick slices of cheddar cheese on top, topped crispy bacon, sausage gravy, and crowned with a sunnyside up egg. Still, even something this good can’t last all day. Jimmy’s brunch is from 10:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m. daily, so don’t sleep on The Bubba or any other of Jimmy’s Famous brunch offerings.  

With locations peppered across Southern California, Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern isn’t hard to find, but it might be hard to leave.

This Restaurant Created A WAFFLE CROQUE MADAME And It’s Stunning

Loosie’s Kitchen, a Brooklyn-based restaurant and bar, just came up with a mouth-watering new brunch item. Inspired by the classic Croque Madame — a baked ham sandwich that’s filled and topped with cheese and served with a fried egg — the restaurant decided to reimagine the concept for brunch by using waffles in place of the traditional sliced bread.

The Waffle Croque Madame features waffles, succulentcountry ham, a sunny-side up egg, and decadent béchamel sauce.

According to the executive chef, Olivier Palazzo, the dish was born when the Loosie’s Kitchen team wanted to have more fun with the brunch menu. They decided to combine all of their favorite ingredients into one dish and, with some refinery, the Waffle Croque Madame was born.

If you’re a fan of getting that Instagram-worthy brunch dish, this one’s pretty high up there.

You can get one at Loosie’s on weekends during the brunch ours of 12pm-4pm.

A Look at the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding and Shrimp & Grits That Changed Our Lives

When you’re presented with a Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding dish at a restaurant, it’s one of those moments where you definitely order dessert first.

That’s what happened when Phil and I checked in to our Spartbanburg, SC Marriott hotel a few days back during our trip to Denny’s HQ. Upon receiving our room keys, we asked the helpful desk clerk what our options for food were. Without hesitancy he responded “KRISPY KREME BREAD PUDDING.

Wait, what? That’s not a full statement!

Phil and I gave each other a double take, and then looked back at the desk operator to see if he had anything left in his voice box…maybe a location? Sure enough, he directed us to the hotel restaurant, Sparks Fire-Inspired Grille and couldn’t stop foaming at the mouth as he described the last time he ate there and the mounting orgasm he achieved when he had a helping of the famed Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.

I’m a fan of orgasm as much as the next guy, so we decided to venture out of the lobby and into the beautiful decore of the rest of the hotel to sink our teeth into this supposed decadence. We grabbed a few seats in the lounge, and ordered Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding (appetizer), a wedge salad (awesome), a flatiron steak (tastes just how it looks) and then the sleeper dish to end them all: Shrimp & Grits.

The Shrimp & Grits included a bed of creamy, cheesy grits tossed with tasso ham, layered with humongous shrimp and a fried egg on top for that added sex appeal. Here’s a complete look, book-ended with the Shrimp & Grits that will change your life (if you’re ever in town, duck into this hotel and try it yourself):
