Chick-Fil-A Is Testing A Pimento Cheese Fried Chicken Sandwich

Pimento cheese has long been revered for its blend of creamy, cheesy, and spicy flavors and textures. In the United States, especially in the South, the spread has long been a favorite for biscuits, crackers, and veggies.

However, when it comes to fast food, it’s been hard to find outside of regional chain favorites like Bojangles or Krystal. That’s all changing, though, as Chick-fil-A is beginning to test pimento cheese on one of its fried chicken sandwiches.

Called the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, the sandwich plays both off of pimento cheese and the “hot honey” flavor trend seen in grocery stores and restaurants alike, especially paired up with fried chicken.

The sandwich features a fried chicken breast filet drizzled with honey, along with pickled jalapenos and some pimento cheese schmeared over the chicken. For those who love pimento cheese, the sandwich provides those creamy textures and spicy heat, but adds a sweet honey and fried chicken to give some complexity to what we know and love about the spread.

The sandwich is available as a limited-time test offer in upstate South Carolina (ie. Greenville) and around Asheville, North Carolina.

Popeyes’ New Chicken Sandwich Sold Out In Just Three Weeks

Since its launch, Popeyes’ brand new chicken sandwich has gone viral and resulted in lines that have wrapped around stores around the nation. Many have waited close to an hour to get their fried chicken fix, and demand has been so sky high that folks will now have to wait a little bit longer.

In a statement, Popeyes says that they expect to completely sell out of chicken sandwiches by the end of this week. While they had planned for a big turnout for the sandwich, they’ve already exhausted the inventory that was forecasted to carry them through September. That means that for at least a little bit, Popeyes won’t have enough fried chicken sandwiches to go around.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the sandwiches will be gone for an entire month, since the chain is working with their suppliers to get the hype new item back in stores sooner rather than later. However, we will have to endure without America’s hottest new fried chicken sandwich for at least some time.

Popeyes will let everyone know once the sandwich is back on the menu.

Dog Haus Restaurants Selling Fried Chicken Sandwich Inspired By Karate Kid Films

Dog Haus, a chain renowned for their unique takes on hot dogs, has just created a fried chicken sandwich that pays tribute to an all-time movie classic.

Their new Karaage Kid, named partly in tribute to the old school karate film, takes karaage chicken, or Japanese-style fried chicken, and places it into a sandwich that has a burst of umami flavor in every bite.

Dog Haus’s Karaage Kid is a special sandwich created for Hawaiian Foods Week, and with the karaage style of frying being popular in the Aloha State, it made sense to bring it to this themed sandwich.

Apart from the karaage chicken, there’s also KING’S HAWAIIAN Sweet Island Ginger Sauce, spicy basil aioli, a layer of furikake seasoning, and an Asian slaw, all piled inside of a toasted KING’S HAWAIIAN Hamburger Bun.

The resulting sandwich is one with a unique combination of flavors and textures, from the crispy, juicy karaage chicken to the creamy and fragrant aioli, crunchy slaw, and pillowy, sweet bun.

You can find the Karaage Kid at Dog Haus locations for a limited time. While it’s on the menu, $1 from every purchase of the sandwich will go to No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit fighting to end childhood hunger in the United States.

Watch Top Chef Richard Blais Make Us His Iconic Fried Chicken Sandwich

For those who don’t consider fried chicken a delicacy — it’s probably because they’ve never tried The Crack Shack, one of San Diego’s most legendary fried chicken joints, led by well-known Top Chef and restaurateur, Richard Blais.

FOODBEAST recently caught up with Chef Blais at his newest Crack Shack location in Costa Mesa, California, to check out one of the most iconic fried chicken sandwiches ever created — the Firebird.

It all starts with The Crack Shack’s signature Nashville-style fried chicken. After marinating the chicken in buttermilk and pickle juice, the chicken is doused with a helping of “Crack spice” – a signature blend of herbs and spices – before it’s fried.

Now, it wouldn’t be fair to call this sandwich “The Firebird” without throwing this perfectly crispy chicken breast into something that’ll get your forehead sweaty, which is why every Firebird is dunked in a hot sauce blend of paprika and cayenne pepper right before it’s set on the toasted bun.

The Firebird comes together with a double helping of Ranch dressing on each bun, some fresh pickles and crispy onion straws.

Next time you’re craving fried chicken, just know that The Crack Shack is FOODBEAST Approved.

Action Bronson’s Fried Chicken Ice Cream Sandwich Is Not For The Faint Of Heart

Action Bronson is, without question, a man of many talents. When Mr. Wonderful himself isn’t tearing it up on a hot track, you can find him in the kitchen dropping glutton bombs guaranteed to cure you of whatever munchies-induced haze is currently clouding your mind and enveloping your gut.

One of his more extreme creations is this fried chicken ice cream sandwich, created as part of his Fuck, That’s Delicious series with VICE. Dubbed the “Fat Guy,” Bronson equates consuming this monstrosity to the simultaneous indulgence of eating a Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich and a Frosty while cooked at levels beyond comprehension.

His version of this experience contains some buzzed refinement, including bananas flambe’ed in Henny and flame-roasted marshmallows for that “carbon dioxide” flavor, as Chef Bronson puts it. There’s even a Mexican chocolate sauce that coats the entirety of the sandwich not any different from how it will eventually glaze your arteries.

Those interested in constructing this amalgamation of food glory can peep here to locate Bronson’s recipe for the fried chicken ice cream sandwich. Be warned, however, that it may take an Action Bronson-sized whiff of DMT to reach the levels of mental elevation necessary to fully enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Two Birds Just Debuted A Pineapple Glazed Chicken Sandwich

Andrew Gruel, founder of Slapfish, Two Birds, and Butterleaf, is constantly working to expanding his culinary empire. Gruel is known for pushing food boundaries in the best way possible – and his reinvention of fried chicken in the form of this “Inside Out” Pineapple Glazed Chicken Sandwich is just one example.

This masterpiece comes straight out of the Two Birds kitchen – a well-known Orange County eatery that uses only organic, free-range Jidori chicken.

In celebration of National Lemonade Day on August 20, Two Birds teamed up with Hubert’s Lemonade to bring you this exclusive pineapple glazed chicken sandwich. Starting with two perfectly fried pieces of Jidori chicken as the bun (yes, you heard us), this sandwich only gets more intense with every layer.

Some consider Jidori to be the Kobe beef of chicken, thanks in part to a strictly organic raising process, which gives the meat an extremely robust flavor. If you’ve never experienced Jidori chicken, it’s about time you did.

To top it off, this inside out masterpiece is stuffed with grilled pineapple, braised pork shoulder, and shredded carrots, and is then smothered in a Hubert’s Pineapple and Ginger Lemonade Glaze for a sweet and savory finish.

If you’re looking to celebrate National Lemonade Day the Two Birds way, mark your calendars now, because this sandwich will phase out on September 3.

See you there!
