Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill lives up to its name when it comes to their fresh and tasty Mexican ingredients. While I don’t patronize their locations as much as I’d like, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had bacon on the menu via their Bacon Garlic Herb Shrimp Tacos. The thought of adding bacon to their garlic herb shrimp was a combination too good to pass up:
Since I’ve recently been on a health fix, I’ve been searching out fresh, and quick recipes that I can make. Here is another that I came across for an egg salad-torta type of sandwich. Take a French roll and pack it full of egg salad gribiche (mayonnaise-style cold egg sauce), throw some arugula, lettuce, or spinach on there and slather on some dijon mustard and you’re ready to grub! Check the source for the recipe. (Thx Chow)
Let me tell you about Ho-Toy’s Chinese food on St. College in Anaheim. Ho-Toy’s is the Chinese food spot that you wish your Chinese food spot was like. They give you more food than you know what to do with, it’s always fresh and hot, and is just all around amazing. If you blinked you’d probably miss this place, but if you enter the magic wonderland of Ho-Toy’s you will not be disappointed. Here is my last meal there; Orange chicken, BBQ chicken and about 2 pounds of chow mein. Thank you wonderful Chinese ladies that serve this up for me.
Take a piece of sausage and make it taste as fresh as possible with the best possible pairings you can imagine. That’s what you’re drooling over right now, a grilled spicy Italian sausage with caramelized onions, provolone cheese and truffle vinaigrette marinated roasted peppers. (Thx FPD)
If you’re living in southern California then you know we are currently burning in the abyss of a major heat wave. Which means the best things to enjoy are BBQ days around the pool and cool drinks. That’s probably why this sandwich seems so appealing to me. The mixture of pulled chicken on a fresh biscuit all topped with a creamy chipotle-blackberry sauce just makes my mouth water. (Thx FPD)
