‘Dumb Starbucks’ Comedian Convinces Customers to Eat Poo-Flavored Froyo [WATCH]

Comedian Nathan Fielder — the man who found a loophole to sell alcohol to minors and the epic troll behind Dumb Starbucks — is once again coming to the rescue of struggling business owners. This time he’s lending savvy business advice to Yogurt Haven, a frozen yogurt shop tucked away in Eagle Rock, a neighborhood in Los Angeles.

Looking to help out Nick Bautista, the shop’s manager, Fielder offers a new stunt flavor he guarantees will bring in more customers. Of course, the regular ol’ bacon, breast milk flavors won’t do. In order to transcend the average trend, the comedian convinces Bautista — and eventually his customers too — that poo froyo is the winner.

Check out the anti-Gordon Ramsay below. By the way, Yogurt Haven is an actual place. The toffee flavor is divine, just try not to mistake it for its less appetizing brethren.

Buzzkill: Health Department Shuts Down the Awesome that is ‘Dumb Starbucks’

After Nathan Fielder, host of Comedy Central’s Nathan for You, revealed himself to be the man behind “Dumb Starbucks,” the Los Angeles County Health Department swiftly shut the faux shop down.

A sign hanging on the window of the Hillhurst Avenue location says that it was “closed for violations”; the department told the LA Times that the parody cafe was shut down for operating without a health permit. Sad news for those who were hoping to get a free Dumb Iced Vanilla Latte.

Previous to being unceremoniously put out of business, Fielder held a cheeky news conference in the parking lot outside the storefront, sporting a green apron with the mock logo. The comedian explained to reporters and curious patrons that capitalizing on Starbuck’s’ household name helped “Dumb Starbucks” take off. However, he warned the actual Starbucks that although he didn’t want to start any “David and Goliath” contentions, if the coffee behemoth pressured him, they’d “risk losing me as a customer.”

Well played, sir.

Successful Troll Successfully Opens ‘Dumb Starbucks’ in Los Angeles [STARBUCKS RESPONDS]

[UPDATED 2/10/14 10:43 p.m. PST] According to Business Insider, Starbucks has finally responded:

“We appreciate the humor but they can’t user our name,” Starbucks spokesman Kim Olson told CNNMoney. “It’s a protected trademark. It’s our trademark.”

Starbucks told Candice Choi at The Associated Press that it’s planning on getting in touch with the shop’s owners.

A new coffee shop called “Dumb Starbucks” opened in Los Angeles this weekend and has become the talk of the town in social media today.

The shop is staffed by two baristas who have been serving free coffee all weekend. As you can see, the line forms out the door.

The shop pretty much uses the exact same logo and design of Starbucks, only with the word “Dumb” in front of it. According to the Wall Street Journal:

“We are aware of it and looking into it,” a Starbucks spokesman said. He added that Dumb Starbucks is  “obviously” unaffiliated with the Seattle based chain.
