I would be a liar if I said I didn’t crave a donut every morning. I’d be an even bigger liar if I said I could eat one everyday and not weigh 400 lbs. On the search for a new hat today, I drove passed Krispy Kreme to see their hot fresh donuts sign on. I haven’t had a donut in a long time but man does a chocolate kreme filled sound amazing. I mean seriously sounds amazing. Oh and milk!
Between April 9th and May 27th, Krispy Kreme will be offerring both Strawberries and Kreme doughnuts and a completely new Berries & Kreme Krispy Kreme Chiller at participating locations. The doughnuts are filled with strawberry kreme and topped with white icing and shortbread crunch, while the Chiller is a “kremey” cool frozen blend with a refreshing berry flavor. In a strange turn of events, Dunkin’ Donuts has let go of its entire creative team, created a new website for users to create their donuts, and hopes this will be an innovative way to stay afloat in a tough economy! OK, everything I just said is roughly bullarchy. What’s actually going down is, Dunkin’ Donuts is holding a contest that offers Americans the opportunity to use their imagination and “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut”. The grand prize winner will walk away with $12,000 and their new treat will be sold at participating Dunkin’ Donuts throughout the country. Starting today until April 7, head over to www.dunkindonuts.com/donut and build your donut from the ground up using their virtual bakery, utilizing dozens of flavors, toppings, fillings and shapes. A dozen finalists will be chosen by Dunkin’ Donuts judges, and those dozen will travel to Dunkin’ Donuts University in Massachusetts to bake-off their donuts, and then the public will be invited to vote for their favorite online beginning May 15. The winner will officially be announced on National Donut Day, June 5th. What you waiting for?! (That’s what she said)
I think, in my opinion (which is fact), that one of the best possible food combinations constructed by the normal passing of time, is the donut + coffee. I’m not a coffee connoisseur, I’m just addicted, so I’ll take whatever is put infront of me, sugar or not, black, white, Puerto Rican, whatever (that’s what she said). As for the donut, I’m also in a non-meticulous mindstate…Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme, 24 hour mom & pop shops, I love them all. It’s been forever since I’ve ran into a donut I didn’t like (that’s what he said). Best of all, donuts are usually the cheapest dessert you can come up on. For goodness sake, 2 dozen assorted donuts for $1.49 and a game of rock-paper-scissor with the Asian manager? Thanks, I’ll take 60 glazed. (Thx TeamSugar)
Available at participating stores nationwide through February 14, Dunkin’ Donuts will be serving up this special new Valentine’s Day donut. It consists of chocolate frosting and decorated with red, pink and white heart-shaped sprinkles. I think I may get a box of these, and try to give them out during the day…hopefully one girl will “understand”. Eat on!
