Dairy Queen Now Offers VEGAN Dilly Bars

When you’re at the Dairy Queen, one of the most refreshing treats you can indulge in is a milky sweet chocolate-covered Dilly Bar. For those who haven’t been able to fully enjoy the iconic Dilly Bar because of dairy restrictions, Dairy Queen has now launched a Non-Dairy Dilly Bar for everyone to enjoy.

Made with coconut milk and covered in a crunchy chocolate coating, the new variation of the Dilly Bar is completely vegan.

You can find it at participating Dairy Queen locations nationwide now as single serve orders or multipacks that come six in a box. Dairy Queen is currently offering drive-thru, takeout, and delivery options for anyone craving some! In-restaurant and outdoor dining is also starting to re-open depending on the state.

Pop Tarts Ice Cream Bars Are A Sweet And Refreshing Reality

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts are hands down my favorite flavor when it comes to choosing from the lineup. I imagine many will be delighted to see that flavor and texture transition over into ice cream bar form. Yes that’s right, Pop Tarts ice cream bars are a thing now and we’re all for it.

Partnering with Good Humor, the two brands created a new Pop Tarts Brown Sugar Cinnamon Frozen Dessert Bar. Put that sweet image in your mouth and nibble on it.

The bar features creamy vanilla flavored frozen dairy with a rich cinnamon core. It’s then topped with a coating of brown sugar cinnamon crumbles to create a crunchy, creamy bar.

Sounds kind of perfect, especially now that summer is quickly approaching.

You can find them now at available grocery retailers nationwide. Makes me wonder if they’ll ever do a s’mores flavor?

Skittles Premieres New Sour Skittles-Infused Ice Cream Bars

As spring transitions to summer, so too do snack cravings. Gone are the big bags of sweets that are to be devoured under three blankets while watching movies. It’s time for ice cream. But, as we sit in the in-between period of the change — too hot for a sweater, but not hot enough for a t-shirt— a cravings crisis begins to form. Much like choosing an outfit, choosing the appropriate snack can be a downright challenge.

Enter, Crazy Sour Skittles Coolers, the hybrid ice cream-candy.

The new treat is the latest in the candy’s ice cream bars, the first of which dropped last February. The premise remains the same: deliver the Skittles experience, but make it ice cream. Except now, the humble Sour Skittle is the star of the show.

This is accomplished by dipping a fruit-flavored, Skittles-infused ice cream bar in a “sour fruit sorbet.”

The results can be seen on the Instagram page @newfoodsuk, who reported the find at an Iceland Foods supermarket.

The response to the account’s post were, unsurprisingly, mixed. But, it’s hard to imagine ice cream and candy not being good together (or at least good enough to try) so this seems like an easy move for candy fiends.

Unfortunately, this is a UK-only product, so any stateside Skittles fanatics will have to find something else to fulfill their cravings.

I’m sorry, Marshawn

The quarantine life has us all on kitchen duty and results have been a mixed bag for many. Folks not used to their way around the kitchen have been forced to get acquainted while others may have found a second calling the way they’ve been giving full exec chef energy with some creative and delicious creations. Count one of those of the latter to be pop star Jason Derulo.

The “Want To Want Me” star has been making the most of being at home with entertaining TikTok videos that have him either showing off his renowned dance moves, doing funny skits, and most surprisingly of all, going full blown Foodbeast in the kitchen with some uber decadent recipe videos.

Celebrating 10 million followers on TikTok ! So I made this🤯

A post shared by Jason Derulo (@jasonderulo) on

In a series of TikTok and Instagram videos that have him celebrating million follower milestones, Derulo is seen concocting some pretty Foodbeast-worthy creations like skillet pancakes loaded with what looks to be the entire candy section of the movie theatre concession stand and French toast sticks loaded with all the sweetest breakfast cereal. In the video up top, he’s celebrating 16 million followers on TikTok by throwing together a chocolate pizza that’s got a caramel-glazed pizza crust and topped with what looks like Nutella, cookie dough, M&M’s, and chopped up Twix bars. Wow.

Look I’m not even mad that watching some of his recipes feels like my blood sugar is rising dramatically. I mean the man is out here living his best Foodbeast life and buying ovens with automatic pop-out trays — I support it!

La Monarca Bakery’s Horchata Cake Is The Very Definition of Moist

la monarca bakery horchata cake

Face it, many of us are coming out of this quarantine earning fresh and comfy extra poundage like a hibernating grizzly. Folks are either cooking up a storm like Gordon Ramsay in The Matrix (didn’t happen, but if it did good lord Mr. Smith you’re in for a sumptuous feast) or hitting up food delivery on the regular, so trust my theory holds weight. You know what else does? The Horchata Cake and Tres Leches Cake from La Monarca Bakery & Cafe.

With 12 locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area, La Monarca has Angelenos covered when it comes to sweet Mexican treats and unique coffee offerings. And what could be a sweeter form of indulgence than a Horchata Cake and Tres Leches Cake?

Their Tres Leches (translates to ‘three milks’) Cake is a Mexican classic: vanilla sponge cake with house made tres leches milk blend, topped with vanilla bean chantilly cream (fresh whipped cream w/sugar) and a dark chocolate ganache swirl, topped with preserved cherry.

La Monarca tres leches cake

Now for the Horchata Cake, they basically used the same principle of a Tres Leches Cake and soaked it with their house made horchata. It’s a novel and simple premise that executes perfectly, with each morsel of the cake being the very definition of moist. Each bite practically had my tastebuds splashing through the whole experience like it was the first day of summer at the community pool. It’s no wonder that La Monarca’s Horchata Cake is a best seller, with one Yelp user gushing, “It tastes like Mexican heaven.”

Now imagine pairing these cakes up with La Monarca’s signature cafe drinks like their Oatchata Latte or Tres Leches Latte and you’ve got yourself an ideal situation for any fan of irresistible cake and delicious coffee.

DoubleTree Finally Revealed Their Iconic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

After a long drive, the first thing I look forward to when checking into any DoubleTree hotel is that soft, warm cookie that they hand you upon check in. Seriously, there are so many good memories associated with that first bite.

For those tired of making banana bread at home, DoubleTree just released their iconic chocolate chip cookie recipe for all to enjoy.

If you’re not traveling anytime soon, but want to recapture the magic that comes from each bite of this warm puck of ambrosia, here’s what you’ll need:

DoubleTree Signature Cookie Ingredients

  • ½ pound butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • ¾ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch cinnamon
  • 2 2/3 cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts

All you have to do is combine the butter, sugars in a mixer for about 2 minutes. Toss in the eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice with the mixer now turned to low for 30 seconds, then switch it to medium for 2 minutes until the batter is light and fluffy. Now switching back to low speed, add the flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon for 45 seconds.

Take the bowl off the mixer, and stir in your chocolate chips and walnuts. Divide the dough with a cookie scoop and put them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper two inches apart. Preheat your oven to 300°F and bake for 20-23 minutes (or until edges are golden brown and center soft). Take them out of the oven, and let them cool for an hour.

Each recipe makes about 26 cookies. Wonder how many of those 26 I can knock back in a single sitting?

Biscoff Ice Cream Bars Are Dessert Goals Filled With Actual Cookie Butter

Photo: @familyfooddude

When we think of Biscoff cookies, our thoughts are transported to a delicate shortbread cookie that’s layered with pronounced flavors of ginger, cinnamon, and caramel. It’s no wonder that many see it as a treat that goes well with coffee or even in its own iteration of Biscoff cookie butter, a marvel in itself. However, it looks like we are now be able to indulge in Biscoff cookies straight from the freezer aisle in the form of ice cream.

Spotted at Walmart locations now throughout the U.S., the Biscoff ice cream bars are a welcome addition to our snacking habits, especially when the delectable bars feature a layer of cookie butter and bits of Biscoff cookies swirled right into the ice cream. Truly they’re like some irresistible concoction straight out of your sweet tooth’s wildest dreams.

No doubt this is all a truly tempting mouthful, but I would not blame you one bit for giving into such sweet temptation.

This Spot Somehow Turned Udon Into Dessert Form

In the pantheon of noodles, Japanese udon ranks high as the subtler, more simple, yet drastically thicker relative to ramen. Whether it be the clean and no frills broth or the thick, toothsome noodles that easily absorb the broth it swims in, udon as a dish is a prime choice when you’re in the mood for some noods. And if said mood happens to be for sweets, then don’t worry, Yuu Japanese Tapas in Richmond, British Columbia has got you covered with a dessert version of udon.

Dubbed as their Milk Udon, Yuu is taking panna cotta and reformatting it into udon noodle form and sweetly submerging them in their milk teas. It’s a unique topping to add and pairing it with boba could make for a milk tea moment that’s meant to be savored and shared. Now before you get grossed out on the premise, just know that panna cotta is essentially sweetened cream thickened with gelatin — no wheat noodles are actually being incorporated here.

It’s definitely a different take on milk tea, but one that can potentially enhance your next boba run.
