HBO Digitally Removes Coffee Cup From Last Week’s ‘Game Of Thrones’, It Wasn’t Starbucks After All

Warning: Game of Thrones Spoilers Ahead

Fans of the groundbreaking HBO series Game of Thrones spotted what was almost undeniably a Starbucks coffee cup this past Sunday’s episode.

Without going too heavy into it, the scene took place during a feast held in the halls of Winterfell. In one shot you can clearly see a modern cup of coffee on the table in front of the Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen.

News spread of the botch and wild theories ranging from time travel, revenge of the cinematographer, and even Starbucks product placement all invaded social platforms.

HBO debunked those rumors in a statement that pretty much squashed all the theories and simply owned up to the fact that it was an accident…and has corrected it.

Subscribers of HBO Go and NOW will notice that the cup has been digitally erased from the episode. At the time of reporting, you can still see the cup if you have the HBO extension of Hulu, but it’ll probably be a matter of hours before they wipe that footage too.

It was also confirmed by The Wall Street Journal that the cup wasn’t from Starbucks, but simply craft services. There goes the Starbucks advertisement theory.

HBO also mentioned that with a production as big as Game of Thrones, items from craft services have occasionally been missed and made it on camera. Though luckily none as noticeable as that coffee cup.

Game of Thrones fans, the final two episodes will be airing on May 12 and May 19. With two episodes left, which will presumably be some of television’s moved viewed content for years to come, you bet your sweet ass fans will dissect every scene for the tiniest of details. Hopefully nothing else slips by.

Innovative Coffee Cup Eliminates The Need To Tilt Your Head For A Sip

Drinking coffee can definitely become a hazard at times.

The main problem with consuming the caffeinated drink outside your home, or any hot beverage that you can’t drink from a straw, is that you’ll have to tilt your head back to take a proper sip. Unfortunately, that can impede your eyesight and potential put you in danger in a variety of everyday situations.

To remedy that, Ruumi has created a cup that completely eliminates the problem of not being able to see when you drink. The revolutionary cup is designed so that your nose fits into a groove of the lid. This means, you won’t have to tilt your head back and your vision won’t be impeded as you drink that sweet roasted medley of caffeine and sugar.

You can buy the Rev-Air Travel Cup directly from Ruumi here for $12 in three different colors.

Might actually grab one for my morning commute.

Whoa, Reese’s New Peanut Butter Cups Are Stuffed With Reese’s Pieces

What could be better than a Reese’s Peanut butter cup? Maybe one that’s stuffed with tiny Reese’s pieces inside. It seems the peanut butter chocolate brand is offering a new snack that pretty much falls in line with the trend of stuffing popular foods into tougher foods.

While it first started as a leaked image, the many heads that turned quickly brought the company to officially announcing the new Reese’s Stuffed with Pieces.

The brand has begun releasing promotional teasers for the upcoming launch. You can find them all on their official Facebook page.

According to the company, you can expect to see them in store shelves sometime in July.

This Travel Mug Will Grind, Brew and Hold Your Coffee For You

It’s hard to get a decent cup of coffee when you’re roughing it. Between lugging around all the appliances, coffee beans and filters, it’s kind of a hassle. Probably why most folks decide to stick with instant coffee when camping. Cafflano has developed a coffee mug that not only stores your coffee, but will also grind the beans and brew it as well.

The design for the cup allows for its multiple parts to stack together. This includes the grinder, drip kettle, filter and cup. All one would need are some fresh coffee beans and hot water.

Last year, the Cafflano tried its hand at crowd-funding. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite make the cut. This year, the company tried their luck again and met their goal. Customers can get a model at The Fowndry for £64.99 ($96.90 US).

A little pricey, sure, but it should pay for itself over time.

iCup: Mug Shaped Like the Apple Logo Stays Warm by Plugging Into Your MacBook

Created by Tomislav Zvonarić, the eye-catching “Apple iCup” features the iconic Apple logo along with a matching stirring spoon and saucer. Zvonarić was inspired by his love for the brand and included such details as the signature bit mark on the side and the leaf on top as a handle to grip on.

The Vancouver-based designer developed the hi-tech mug to help keep your coffee hot while you work away on your computer. The iCup easily plugs in via a USB cable and its thick walls ensure that your daily dose of caffeine stays warm until you’re done with your work. The mugs come in four colors including white, black, red and green. However, at the moment the product seems to be just a concept. A tease for all you die-hard Apple fans, I know.

Slanted Mug is Designed to Fit Between Your Thighs

I live a dangerous life.  I like to drink my tea on the couch, usually curled up around or with a cat, and my mug often gets placed precariously on my lap, the arm of the couch, or on the cat (poor thing).  I’m always worried about spilling, but usually too comfy to do anything about it.  Thank goodness someone invented the “Lap Mug.”

The lap mug is “designed around the body rather than the table” and has a unique wedge design that allows it to fit perfectly between your legs.  Plus, the slanted mugs can be placed on a countertop at a slight angle, meaning you don’t have to awkwardly hold them while pouring coffee.

However, after thinking about this critically for a bit, I have one important question.  How do I prevent my legs from burning with the hot mug now between them? I want to love you lap mug, but I don’t know if I can.
