Watch Cookie Monster Devour 100 Years Of Cookies

Cookies have changed and evolved quite a bit over the last 100 years, and it’s interesting to have a visual of when our favorite cookies came to be. It’s even better when that visual comes with the maniacal Cookie Monster chowing down on all these cookies.

Bon Appetit teamed up with the Sesame Street legend, as he and a couple of cute kids took a trip down a timeline to see what cookies have looked like as far back as the 1910s.

From the chocolate coated marshmallow Mallomars, which debuted in the 1910s, to the popular cookie cakes which became a staple in the 2010s, the cookie-loving monster gives us a bit of a history lesson that we’re definitely not sleeping on.

I know you’re wondering, so i’ll just lay it out — chocolate chip cookies were invented in the 1930s and the Cookie Monster definitely went crazy on them.

There’s even acknowledgment of the fortune cookie which apparently came to be in the 1970s. Who knew?

Not only do we get to learn a bit about were our favorite treats, but anytime we can get a little childhood nostalgia, we’ll take it.

Apple Hires Cookie Monster To Promote This Major Siri Update

Apple just launched a Hands-free function for Siri for the iPhone 6s. Now, users can just exclaim “Hey, Siri.” along with a command and the operating system will perform that command.

As an example, the company used the infamous Cookie Monster from Sesame Street in this new promotional ad. Here, he makes cookies using the new hands-free Siri to set a timer. In typical Cookie Monster fashion, the dude still can’t wait for his cookies to be ready.

Man, “Time in a Bottle” is such a relaxing song.

How every recycling bin should look like

When You See It . . . Accidental Cookie Monster

Where the average person might see a giant blue storage bin, a red label, and a few rolls of paper, we here at Foodbeast are a little more creative/paranoid. Is it just us, or does this “accidental” Cookie Monster, brought to us by “Mike (from Spain)“,  feel a little Hall & Oates “Private Eyes”-esque?

Mike (from Spain), this Cookie Monster dumpster is watching you. It sees your every move.

Kinda makes you wonder — they got anything else going on in that storage shed? Recycling bins that resemble Bert and Ernie? Does the trash compactor look like Oscar the Grouch? Because that would be a little ironic, in the darkest way possible.

H/T + PicThx that’s nerdalicious

Cookie Monster Feels Your Failed New Year’s Resolution Pain in this Google Play Ad [VIDEO]

Face it, if you had to choose between a cookie cookbook and a healthy diet cookbook, you know which one you’d rather choose. Which is part of what makes this new ad for Google Play so effective – because you realize that Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster is just like you, thank goodness!

The story goes like this: determined to become a whole new monster, good o’ CM signs into Google Play and downloads the Rocky Soundtrack and Run, Fatboy, Run. A few fitness and running apps later, he’s on a roll until he decides to find some cooking inspiration and gets caught between a Martha Stewart cookie cookbook and one entitled “Everyday Food: Light.” And you can probably guess what happens next. Hint: his Plus status goes from “New me start today,” to “New me start tomorrow.”

It’s okay Cookie, we can both be healthy eating fails together, along with at least half of Foodbeast’s readership.

Cookie Monster Sings a ‘Call Me Maybe’ Spoof About Sharing

“Hey me just met you, and this is crazy, but you got cookies, so share it maybe?”

Sesame Street has long been a hub of low-key awesome videos, so it isn’t surprising that this new clip (called “Share it Maybe”), featuring Cookie Monster singing about cookies to the tune of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” has itself some pretty good writing, arguably even better than the original:

“You took your time with the bite, me trying to stay polite, me start to really freak out, please someone call the girl scouts!”
