Häagen-Dazs’ Free Cone Day Is Back And Still Helping To Save Bees

For over a decade now you’ve been enjoying free ice cream from Häagen Dazs, but we bet you never took the time to actually learn why this blessed day comes around once a year.

It’s crazy to think that those little flying demons that we are told to stay still around are actually responsible for nearly every delicious flavor we put into our mouths.

Bees, through an incredible amount of pollination, are the sole suppliers of over 70 percent of the crops that humans rely on. Foodbeast did a write-up on what your food would look like if bees went extinct, maybe checking this out will help push you to donate instead of gorge on free ice cream all day.

And Häagen Dazs has been thanking them for 10 years as a part of their “Häagen-Dazs loves Honey Bees Initiative” with Free Cone Day being focused directly on thanking and supporting the bees.

While there’s no feasible way to physically thank said bees, supporting the effort in preventing their extinction is definitely the better alternative.

And what better way to support a cause than by getting free ice cream? There’s no other way and it is amazing.

On May 8th, between 4 – 8pm Häagen Dazs is coming back again with their annual Free Cone Day. Pop into a local shop and receive one free scoop of ice cream or sorbet in a cup, sugar cone or cake cone between specified hours.

The purpose of this day is to recognize the bees and their gift of pollination, without which we wouldn’t have delectable flavors like Rocky Road, mango, or even strawberry.

The fact that you’re getting a free cone might push you to actually thank the bees in a viable way, because face it, most people don’t care about anything else if free ice cream is offered.

Think of it like this, you would have paid for the ice cream at some point anyway, this way you can use whatever you thought you would have had to pay and donate it here, to help fund research in preventing the decimation of bees.

One day you might not be able to get that delicious strawberry cone again and you’ll wish you spent even a fiver helping fight for bees.

For more information on bees, here’s a great article Foodbeast did on bees and their importance in the world.

Ben & Jerry’s Wants to Thank You With Free Ice Cream

Prepare yourself for the 10th of April. Drink plenty of water the night before. Have a balanced diet the days leading up to it. Try to exercise. Most importantly, keep your sugar intake to a minimum.

Why? Ben & Jerry’s is trying to kill us all. Well, not really, but that fateful Tuesday will test the population’s self control because for that day only anyone and everyone is invited by the ice cream giant to indulge in a free cone or cup.

Now, you might not think that one cone or cup is enough to call for some changes in diet, but add in the fact that Ben & Jerry’s is ready to let people stand right back in line after they get their cone. Now you get the warning?

With 35 flavors to choose from at any Scoop Shop in the US, this calls for a full on ice-cream day-trip with anyone willing to freeze their blood.

Since 1979, Ben & Jerry’s has been doing this Free Scoop Day as a way to show gratitude to the customers that have kept them going from the start.

It’s no shock since then that the flavors of ice cream have grown, no longer are your free scoops fixated to either a chocolate or vanilla. It’s 2018, we’ve got Phish Food, my guy.

Dude Makes A Hot Cheetos Waffle Cone And Stuffs It With Mac & Cheese

From Burger King’s Mac & Cheetos, to Tym Bussanich’s Hot Cheetos corn on the cob, it seems like the chips are more than just a snack you eat on your break at work.

Little by little, Cheetos are being used in innovative ways, and we can now add a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos waffle cone to that list of culinary frankenfoods.

Food blogger and waffle cone wizard Nick Chipman of Dude Foods put together this bright red cone and dumped mac & cheese inside of it.

He basically just blended a bag of Hot Cheetos, mixed it with an egg batter, spread it over a waffle maker, and rolled the results over a metal cone mold. He let the Cheetos waffle bake in the oven for 15 minutes and let it cool.

At that point you can probably stuff it with whatever you want, but mac & cheese sounds like a pretty solid option.

Peep the full recipe on Dude Foods and check out his quick Instagram video below, as this beautiful cone gets a spicy remix:

Starbucks’ Newest Frappuccino Looks Like A Magical Waffle Shake

Starbucks just launched a brand-new frappuccino this week. This one’s called The Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino. Wanna guess what’s inside it?

The sweet new beverages features waffle cone syrup and dark caramel sauce that’s blended with coffee, milk and ice. It’s then topped with whipped cream, dark caramel sauce and chunks of waffle cone.

Elie, the guy that made that Taco Bell lasagna, grabbed one earlier to see how it tastes. Dude’s super big on coffee so we were prepared for some criticism.

I thought it was delicious, I like how the coffee actually comes through and it doesn’t feel like a milkshake.
Damn, he actually liked it.
But it’s sweet AF, definitely not capable of finishing the entire drink. Per usual of Starbucks Frappuccino drinks.
That’s more like it.
Still, it sounds like just the drink for a much-needed sugar rush.

Starbucks is also bringing back their S’mores Frappuccino for a limited time. Both beverages will be available for the summer and will probably disappear come pumpkin spice season.

This Ice Cream Cone Vibrator Could Really Make Women Melt

For as long as sex has been around, which, if my calculations are correct is at least 200-300 years, men and women have been finding new and exciting ways to smash cheeks with each other, particularly with the use of food. For reasons beyond me, there is a glaring lack of vibrators and dildos shaped like our favorite foods.Screen Shot 2016-03-23 at 11.30.58 AMScreen Shot 2016-03-23 at 11.09.56 AM

Well ladies, the urge to combine sex and food in a satisfying way has been unearthed! Firebox came out with another amazing thing we don’t need but desperately want when they released their i-Scream Vibrator.

With 10 different speeds to choose from, the i-Scream Vibrator even comes in a retro-style pinstripe box and a little button that plays snazzy jazz tunes. Just make sure you hide it in a place your children will never reach, because there are few thoughts more horrific than what happens when they find it.

This Theme Park Will Serve You Alligator Meat In A Cone

On our most recent tour through Knott’s Berry Farm, we came upon the Spurs Patio dining area. There, Knott’s chef Bobby Obezo announced that we would get to try alligator meat served at the park for the upcoming Boysenberry Festival.

The reptilian protein is hand battered and deep-fried into little bite-sized pieces. It’s served with with a boysenberry aioli in a paper cone over a bed of thinly-cut french fries.

It tasted like chicken and if they didn’t tell us what it was ahead of time, I don’t think we’d be able to tell the difference.

You can find the gator bites at Knott’s during the popular Boysenberry Festival the Peanuts theme park holds annually. The festival will begin on March 19 and run through April 3.

Chick-fil-A Will Give You Free Ice Cream If You Ditch Your Phone

Chick-fil-A is giving customers free ice cream if they can refrain from using their phones. Y’know, for the sake of family and conversation.

The fast food chain recently added cardboard “chicken coops” for patrons to drop their smartphones or devices into during the meal. They’re calling it a challenge.

Here are the rules:

1. Turn all family cell phones to silent and place in a cardboard cell phone coop that they provide.

2. Eat your food without your phone distracting you.

3. When you’re done, let the cashier know that you were able to complete the challenge and they’ll give you an Icedream cone.

The promotion will be available at all participating Chick-fil-A locations.

Sure, everyone’s on the honor system. Though we’re sure a few customers who slip will still try for that free cone.
