Check Out This Spanish Twist On The Classic Egg & Chorizo Sandwich

The Tumaca Truck is known for its authentic, Spanish-style food from one of the most popular regions in the world.

For the Tumaca Truck, the phrase, “happy food from Barcelona,” is an endearing motto, and a fact of life, as these purveyors of delicious items like Catalan sausage and Spanish serrano ham never seem to disappoint.

If you’ve never stopped by the Tumaca Truck, Hansen’s Natural Soda is giving you an exclusive opportunity to check them out on October 7 at Fresh Coat Mural Festival in DTLA’s Arts District.

If that doesn’t work for your schedule, the Tumaca Truck will also be at FOODBEAST’s third annual OOZEFEST, an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink cheese festival in Santa Ana, California on October 14.

At both events, you’ll be able to try one of the most famous items on Tumaca’s menu, the Eggs & Chorizo served on a toasted ciabatta from well-known baker Bub & Grandma’s.

Tumaca’s Eggs & Chorizo features Spanish dry-cured chorizo, two over medium eggs, melted Manchego cheese, and crispy smoked bacon topped with chives.

This breakfast-meets-lunch sandwich is the perfect combination of savory and spicy, and is paired perfectly with Hansen’s Mandarin Lime Soda. Grab a can of your own and come join the festivities on October 7 and October 14!

Wendy’s to Launch Limited-Time Ciabatta Bacon Cheeseburger in February

wendysciabatta

Move over brioche. It looks like ciabatta’s the new bad bread on the block.

Beginning in February, Wendy’s will launch a new limited-time Ciabatta Bacon Cheeseburger, featuring a quarter-pound beef patty, oven-roasted chopped tomatoes, rosemary-garlic aioli, spring mix, Asiago cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, and of course, its toasted namesake.

Now I don’t know about you, but ciabatta was always a little too dry/crusty for my taste, let alone fast food ciabatta. Ah well, nothing a good Frosty can’t fix, right?

Slater’s 50/50 March Madness: The Drunken Guinness-Infused Steak Burger

slaters

Slater’s 50/50 is getting it right with March’s new Burger of the Month: The Drunken Steak Burger. The extreme burger joint is putting aside their signature half-bacon, half-beef patty for a 7oz NY strip steak infused with a sweet Guinness marinade atop roma tomatoes and arugula roasted in Jameson Irish Whiskey. The patty is also stacked with thick-cut bacon, melted provolone cheese, roasted red peppers and doused in Guinness and blue cheese dressing. All this sandwiched between a sliced ciabatta loaf.

Keep an eye out for the item starting March 1st. Expect the price tag on this beer-happy burger to be $14.95 and bring a hefty appetite.

Panini Pressed Kurobuta Pork Belly Banh Mi

This sandwich comes from Mendocino Farms and is photographed by unquestionable Foodbeast Vince Domingo, a hybrid panini + banh mi. We’re looking at Kurobuta pork belly, braised and caramelized, then topped with housemade pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapenos and a chili aioli. Of course it’s on ciabatta bread and pressed, but that’s beside the point. Looks delicious!

Burger King: Heavily Expanding Breakfast Menu

In a crazy push to fight for some of the breakfast fast food market, Burger King is rolling out a hefty new layer of selections on their breakfast menu. The menu still includes their Croissanwiches, their BK Breakfast Bowl and other current holdings, but the additions include the BK Breakfast Ciabatta Club Sandwich (pictured above) which comes complete with eggs, tomato, ham, bacon, American cheese and “smoky tomato sauce”, all on a toasted ciabatta bun. Solo price on this sandwich will run you $2.89. In addition to the sandwich, the menu will see the addition of $1 Mini Blueberry Biscuits (four of them are also pictured above, served with a warm side of vanilla icing for dipping).
