Chrissy Teigen’s Viral Banana Bread Is Now Available In Chocolate Bar Form

In the early days of quarantine, when everyone was setting up shop in their kitchens unlocking their inner baker, banana bread came out on top as the top choice to take a crack at. A particular recipe, namely one from Chrissy Teigen, went viral, setting off a wave of banana bread attempts that swept through the internet and social media.

Compartés Chocolatier has added a wrinkle to the banana bread saga by linking up with Teigen herself to create a chocolate bar version of her famous recipe. The luscious bar features white chocolate infused with delectable chunks of banana bread and is part of a line of chocolate bars that are a collaboration between Teigen’s Cravings website and Compartés.

The limited-edition line of chocolate bars is influenced by Teigen’s family, which can be distinguished in its packaging design and flavors. Here’s a rundown of the full Compartés Chocolatier x Cravings Chocolate Bar Collection:

  • Chrissy’s Creamy Coconut Chocolate Bar: Infused with coconut milk (ode to Chrissy’s Thai heritage), crunchy pieces of popcorn, and bathed in milk chocolate. The bar’s packaging is inspired by the Beverly Hills hotel – a favorite LA spot for both Chrissy & Jonathan.
  • John’s Cake Bar White Chocolate Bar: White chocolate with pieces of homemade carrot cake + specs of cinnamon. A special flavor profile to the couple – as Carrot Cake was John & Chrissy’s wedding cake!
  • Miles’ Banana Bread Chocolate Bar: Inspired by Chrissy’s banana bread recipe that went viral – meet the chocolate bar that’ll break the internet! White chocolate mixed in with chunks of everyone’s favorite quarantine dessert, banana bread.
  • Luna’s Blueberry Pancake Chocolate Bar: Every Sunday morning, John makes blueberry pancakes for Chrissy + the kids – now, taste his famous breakfast creation in chocolate form! The white chocolate bar of our dreams – infused with maple syrup and hand-studded with fresh blueberries.

The collection is available for purchase starting today and will be available for a limited time only on the Cravings and Compartés websites.

Banana Bread Is Quarantine’s Unlikely Hero

The unspoken hero of this quarantined time is the humble oven. Since most of the world went into hiding, people have taken solace in one of the few acts that is productive, comforting, and time consuming: baking banana bread.

Cookies, brownies, muffins, all have been given shine on social media these past couple weeks. But, nothing has made the rounds more than banana bread. Not a day has gone by in the last week in which a load didn’t touch down on my timeline.

The phenom even made its way to the cream of the crop of Twitter, with Chrissy Tiegen taking to the platform to offer a loaf of her famous banana bread in exchange for romaine lettuce, which she eventually found.

We decided to join in on the hype, and started with the very bread seen in Tiegen’s exchange, which can be found in her recipe book, Cravings. Check out the video above to see the process and our delicious results.

Now, I wasn’t satisfied with just the bread, I wanted answers. Why on Earth has banana bread taken ahold of our collective mind as we all sit, bored as hell, in our homes?

I sent up a signal. I posted on my Instagram story, asking people to DM me if they’ve made banana bread while pent up. To those who DM’d me, I simply asked, “Why?”

I expected to be able to make this into a quick, heartwarming story with the responses, one that hopefully alluded to banana bread being a childhood favorite to many that, in turn, is providing comfort in a time of need. And while some responses did support this theory, I overwhelmingly received two specific sentiments:

“I saw it on TikTok/YouTube,” and “I had rotten bananas.”

After digging around a little, I found multiple TikTok’s showing recipes for banana bread, some with hundreds of thousands of views, while some in with millions.

Also, apparently, a lot of people panic bought bananas. And, no one actually ever remembers that they bought them, so there were a lot of rotting bananas out in the world.

The trend seems to have been borne out of virality and necessity, as is everything in this day and age. Hell, most of my meals in the past few days can be sourced from the same ideals, too.

And it seems like for the next few weeks that frame of mind will dominate the kitchen. People will continue baking, using whatever they have in their kitchen. Maybe keeping something from exploding in the oven will distract from the world seemingly exploding around us, who knows.

But, hey, until it does, keep making that scrumptious banana bread.

Chrissy Teigen Bakes An Emotional Support Casserole And Gets It Past The TSA

Recent kerfuffles involving peacocks and hamsters have people asking, ‘what can you bring on airplanes for emotional support’? It seems that Chrissy Teigen has found at least one answer: an emotional support casserole can qualify.

Teigen’s inquiry started as an innocent one, as she just wanted to know if she could bring a casserole on a flight. However, that dish later turned into an “emotional support casserole” once American Airlines showed up to help her out.

American Airlines said it was okay if the TSA was down with it, at which point the TSA’s Twitter account stepped into to give Teigen the green light.

Teigen then quickly got to work, baking her casserole before bringing it to the airport, and yes, getting it through security. She didn’t use a ceramic dish, though, probably because a Tupperware would be safer for the dish to travel in.

The casserole got through security, onto the plane, and to Teigen’s final destination, where she posted one final tweet with her prized meal in hand.

To be honest, I’m surprised the casserole made it that far. It all would’ve been in my belly by the time I made it to baggage claim.

Chrissy Teigen Admits To Baking Kanye A Terrible Cheesecake

Chrissy Teigan has become a goddess in the food world, as the model has positioned herself to be a go-to source for everyday recipes. That doesn’t make her infallible, though, and she recalled an embarrassing time when she served Kanye West a cheesecake that was barely a cheesecake.

While on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Teigen and hubby John Legend talked about the infamous cheesecake, saying that it tasted more like flan — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

“I’ve made a bad meal for a celebrity friend before,” Teigen said. “I made a cheesecake for Kanye… it was very bad.”

Legend backed up his wife, saying that the cake still tasted good, but it wasn’t necessarily a cheesecake. Apparently Kanye kind of nodded his head and said, “This is kind of flan-ish.”

Obviously, Kanye didn’t insult his friends, but the incident still embarrassed Teigen to the point that she’s never tried to make the cheesecake again.

You’d think Teigen would own it and call it a flan cake or something. Maybe it wasn’t what she intended, but I honestly hope it’s in her next cookbook.

Chrissy Teigen Reveals What She Eats Every Single Night For Dinner

I know you well enough to know you will "ew" my whole fish photo but don't care

A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

Supermodel Chrissy Teigen is arguably everyone’s favorite celebrity foodie, as she can genuinely enjoy a bucket of KFC as much as she can enjoy fine dining.

While Teigen shares a variety of meals on her social media accounts, there is one food that she eats more consistently than anything else, and that’s a plate of Branzino.

No, not Benzino the rapper who foolishly dissed Eminem  — Branzino, the European seabass with silver-colored skin.

Teigen told Refinery 29 in an interview that with some help from her mom, she cooks up a mean Branzino for herself every night.

“I have one whole fish every night, covered in garlic and olive oil, stuffed with lemons and rosemary. And I eat it every single night. So I go, ‘Mom! Guess what time it is?’ And she gets all sad and she goes: ‘Fish timeeee.’ Cuz she knows she has to finely mince the garlic, which takes forever.”

Chrissy even said over Twitter that she’ll sometimes eat two Branzinos a night, which is a damn good problem to have.

She didn’t say what John Legend eats for dinner, but you can’t be mad if it’s hot wings, like this:

These are a few of my favorite things…

Chrissy Teigen Admits To Being Hospitalized After Cooking Scalloped Potatoes

A photo posted by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

Chrissy Teigen is one of our favorite celebrity foodies, often tweeting out her food life, and even writing a best-selling cookbook. As great as she is in the kitchen, she recently admitted to having a bloody incident with her hubby John Legend.

She told Delish of a past incident that involved the couple trying to cook up some scalloped potatoes. During their cooking sesh, not only did she slice off the tip of her finger, but so did John.

“I gave John the task, and within the first three swipes, he cut the tip of his finger clean off,” Teigen told Delish.

The two were hosting a football game at their home, wanted to make their guests some food, and decided to use a new mandoline. John gave it a crack, and immediately sliced himself up. Teigen, not learning from Legend’s mistake, tried to slice the potatoes herself, and did the exact same thing to her finger.

They both ended up going to urgent care to patch up their fingers, and thankfully it wasn’t worse for the cooking couple.

We’re willing to bet both will be more careful next time, as they both make money off their hands.

The Best Burger in the Country According to Supermodel Chrissy Teigen

Most super models are notoriously stereotyped as “un-eaters”, whether it is from dieting or starving, these beauties always get the heat.  Sports Illustrated supermodel, and wife to John “make-you-weak-in-the-knees” Legend, Chrissy Teigen is notorious for her love of good food.

Her Instagram has no shortage of breakfast sandwiches and “stuff her mouth” selfies, and was chosen to be a judge for one of the countries top tier burger competitions, South Beach Wine and Food Fest’s Burger Bash.

This annual competition is a throw down for some of the most stomach bursting burger-coctions on the planet.  If you have it in your pantry, one of these chefs are using it in their burger.  Mac and Cheese, Fritos, Jalapeño Chips, Candied Jalapeño, and so much bacon.

Chrissy Teigen and her judge comrades chose a burger out of Miami for “Very Best Burger”, Lure Fishbar’s Bash Burger. Josh Capon accepted the award for his creation, stuffing guests with a burger topped with American Cheese, loaded with secret sauce and caramelized onion bacon jam.

Nothing is hotter than a girl who doesn’t mind getting down with a burger, we love you Chrissy Teigen.
