Chick-fil-A Shares Sandwich Substitute For When They’re Closed on Sundays

We’re all familiar with the idea of Sundays being rest day, right? But if you’re a normal American with cravings for delicious fast food, Sundays can be a day of dread… especially if you love Chick-fil-A. I for one am amongst the ranks of chicken sandwich fiends that somehow always want Chick-fil-A in and around their mouths on the one day that it isn’t open.

However in comes some news that has me like hallelujah, shoutout to the chicken gawds! Chick-fil-A and Top Chef season 6 contender, Kevin Gillespie have shared a chicken sandwich recipe inspired by the restaurant’s OG money maker.

In the video above, Chef Kevin Gillespie shares that testing his “Closed-On-Sunday Chicken Sandwich” took weeks of trying to figure out the perfect balance of sweet and savory, that made the OG what it was.

Although, Chef Kevin admits that while there is no real replacement for the satisfaction from the real thing, the easy to follow recipe is his take on satisfying your chicken sandwich cravings without sacrificing flavor and cost.

Who knows how far or close he is from the OG Chick-fil-A recipe, but at least we normal people now have a base and the tools to satisfy our appetites for a fire chicken sandwich on a Sunday.

Chick-Fil-A’s New Egg White Sandwich Pissed Off Daym Drops

When Chick-Fil-A replaced it’s Spicy Chicken Biscuit for a healthier Egg White Grill, there was a bit of an uproar from fans, as they didn’t appreciate the menu change.

I’m sure they had their reasons, but it doesn’t mean we have to like those reasons.

YouTuber Daym Drops, the utmost authority on fast food reviews, got his hands on the Egg White Grill, and in his usual honest way, let us know that the sandwich was not a banger

His review started off promising, as the melted cheese looked like it was ready to be a part of something special, but all it took was one bite before Daym’s excitement turned into disappointment.

While Chick-Fil-A usually comes correct with their chicken sandwiches, Daym dubbed this one the, “Egg White Not Aite.”

He said it wasn’t even so much the egg white that ruined it, it was the grilled chicken that didn’t fit well.

I think it’s safe to say that Chick-Fil-A blew it by getting rid of the Spicy Chicken Biscuit. Not only did they get rid of a fan favorite, but they replaced it with something that’s not Daym Drops approved, and that might be the biggest “tell” of all.

Denny’s is not one to be left out of a craze and they’ve concocted a sandwich to loop into the not-dead Sriracha craze.

It’s called the Sriracha Spicy Super Chick’n sandwich, and it features a hot and spicy Sriracha seasoned chicken, Swiss cheese, bacon, tomato and Denny’s new “creamy Sriracha sauce” all served on grilled sourdough.

This is a limited-time offering, probably dictated by how many of us go out and eat it. What do y’all think? Worthy, or nah?

While the sandwiches have already been spotted at some stores, the official launch is scheduled for next week.

Chick-fil-A Raked in the Dough in 2011

Chick-fil-A exceeded the $4 billion mark in 2011 sales. A 13.08 percent increase from 2010, CFA is increasing its sales and giving cows across the country a little hope.

CFA, the originators of the chicken sandwich, also generated a 7 percent same-store sales increase, its 44th consecutive year of sales growth.

The overall growth was generated from several advancements in 2011 such as: introducing the Chick-Fil-A Spicy Chicken Biscuit and Multigrain Oatmeal to its breakfast menu, the opening of 92 new restaurant locations— surpassing the 1,600 mark, and marketing strategies that included a Breakfast Variety Giveaway promotion, giving out more than 830,000 breakfast entrees, and its annual Cow Appreciation Day where nearly 600,000 customers dressed as crazed human-cows received a free meal for their effort.

Its recognition by the Zagat National Fast Food Survey as one of the “Top Large Chains,” and title of Consumer Reports’ “Top Chicken Chain” shows that CFA is only getting more serious about its poultry dreams.

So what’s on tap for 2012? An estimated job increase of 7,000 employees, the opening of another 92 restaurants, (including more on-campus locations) and new menu items in the form of grilled chicken nuggets, warm chocolate chunk cookies, fudge brownies and sundaes.

As long as it can stay away from nugget-stuffing, collapsing teenagers, 2012 looks bright for the chicken-wielding restaurant.
