Starbucks Adds First New Menu Items Of 2017, Including Sous Vide Egg Bites

Starbucks capped off the 2016 year with a pretty fancy line of Tuxedo beverages. Now, the coffee chain is kicking off 2017 with two new items that haven’t been seen before as a fast food option.

The first item is a Sous Vide Egg Bite that comes in two flavors: Bacon & Gruyere or Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper. Sous vide is a technique where vacuum-sealed food is cooked in a water bath at a precise temperature.

Need something warm to wash down a hearty breakfast item? Starbucks is has added a new drink to their menu.

The Cascara Latte is a beverage made with a Cascara syrup that combines coffee cherry extract with coconut and cane sugars. In doing so, it adds subtle notes of dark brown sugar and maple when layered with Starbucks’ espresso.

Customers can order the Cascara Latte now at all of Starbucks’ US locations and the Sous Vide Egg Bites beginning Jan. 10. You can bet your velvety butts we’re gonna try those egg bites.

Krispy Kreme’s Donut-Flavored Soda Is A One Way Inhale A Donut

Krispy Kreme has partnered up with Cheerwine again, this time for a doughnut-flavored soft drink. Yes, you read that right. I’m trying to work out in my mind what that could possibly taste like.

Both companies are North Carolina-based and have teamed up once before with a Cheerwine creme-filled donut in 2010, but this…this is a whole ‘nother level.

It appears that North Carolinians are proud of the beverage called Cheerwine Kreme, and I guess if something of this magnitude came out of my hometown I’d have to show some respect too.

You can’t NOT try it…it’s your duty as a North Carolinian…😜 #cheerwinekreme

But are they trying to kill us? Possibly.

According to USA Today, the beverage is currently being distributed in stores and doughnut shops in North and South Carolina as well as in Georgia.

For those who don’t know, Cheerwine is a cherry-flavored soda and the brand claims to be “the oldest continuing soft drink company still run by the same family.”

Apparently, Cheerwine already makes for a mean ice cream float, and I’m sure a Cheerwine Kreme Float will soon follow.

These Alcohol-Infused Cherries Will Get You Low-Key Drunk

For quite some time now, people have been infusing alcohol into food and beverages, namely fruits and desserts. One particularly common practice in the south is to put fruits into moonshine mason jars and let them soak up all the moonshiney goodness. It’s not just fruits either. Hell, I ate a cocktail weenie infused with Everclear once and it was horrendous, although it was supposed to be.

Larry Trachtenbroit, a beverage industry expert for over 15 years, created Twisted Cherries, a jar full of alcohol-infused cherries used as a fun way to spice up anything from desserts to drinks.

Each canister is filled to the brim and sealed tight using recycled plastic materials. These cherries boast an impressive 6% ABV while also sporting an easy price tag of just $8.99 per canister.

The hand-picked cherries come in two different flavors, “Original Cherry Bomb” and “Balls of Fire,” the latter being mixed with cinnamon-infused alcohol to create a spicy, flavorful kick.

Trachtenbroit’s creation has been doing so well lately that he even made it onto the acclaimed show Shark Tank in order to show off his delicious creation in the hopes of receiving some financial backing from some of the biggest names in business.

7-Eleven Combined Slurpees And Donuts To Create The Perfect Treat

The Slurpee, one of the most beloved summer treats in America, has just reinvented itself in the most delicious way possible: enter the Slurpee Donut.

After the consistent success of the Slurpee over the past few decades, 7-Eleven has decided to create and sell its own Wild Cherry Slurpee Donut.

The donut is an old-fashioned cake donut with red wild cherry icing and red candy crystals blanketing it. Although it’s a new flavor altogether, the donut bears a striking resemblance to the pink donuts commonly used in The Simpsons, making it that much more desirable.

The donuts are being sold for ¢99 at most, if not all, 7-Eleven locations.

This Is Starbucks’ New Cherry Blossom Frappuccino, And It’s Beautiful

As most people know, the people of Japan are all super into cherry blossom trees, or “sakura.” The budding flowers on the branches are sticklers for timing, blooming only as soon as the Japanese springtime makes its way into the country. And when the tide of pink flowers rolls in, so do their Starbucks counterparts, the Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Frappuccino.

Well, this year might be a little more special. For the first time ever, Starbucks will be releasing their famed Cherry Blossom Frappuccino in the United States, previously only available in Japan. The sweet, icy beverage has risen in popularity ever since it’s inception in 2010.

The cream and crimson delight is made with strawberries and cream, white chocolate sauce, a matcha blend and finally, topped with Starbucks’ staple Frappuccino ingredient, a soft mound of whipped cream. Matcha, for those who don’t know, is a finely ground powder made from green tea leaves.

Unfortunately, this delectable drink will only be available for five days, from now until March 20th, so make sure to get ’em while they’re hot! Or rather, cold.

Taco Bell Adds A Cherry Starburst Freeze To Its Menu

After devouring a meal of Doritos Locos Tacos, Quesaritos and Crunchwraps, you’re kind of in the mood for something cold and sweet. So when Taco Bell introduce the original Starburst Strawberry Freeze last year, they got our attention. Now, another contender has stepped into the ring: Starburst Cherry Freeze.

The new Starburst Freeze flavor is set to hit Taco Bell’s Thursday, Sept. 24, nationwide. A regular freeze is available for $1.99 and a large for $2.29.

Patrons are asked to compare the two flavors and blast social media with their preferences. Taco Bell is coining the challenge: #TeamPink or #TeamRed?

Meanwhile, #TeamBajaBlast sips quietly in the corner.
