Fitness Guru Shows Us How To Make Cheeseburger Pop-Tarts

There’s an argument to be made that many foods should be enjoyed in some kind of Pop-Tart form. For those who can barely roll out of bed to make it to work on time, it’s just easier being able to crush your meals in hand-held fashion.

Zach Rocheleau, the man behind @theflexibledietinglifestyle on Instagram, shared a recipe with us that combines the convenience of a Pop-Tart with the savory goodness of a cheeseburger.

To make the flaky Pop-Tart crust, Rocheleau combines regular flour, coconut flour, and almond flour in a food processor. Butter and plain Greek yogurt are introduced to the flour mixture and blended further to create a lighter pastry. Taking a handful of the dough, he forms two balls which are rolled out on a flat surface to form the bottom and top halves of the crust.

Once the edges are cleanly sliced, a burger patty is stacked with queso, shredded mozzarella cheese, avocado slices, and a fried egg.

After the cheeseburger Pop-Tart is assembled, he crimps the edges with a fork and bakes the savory pastry for 12-15 minutes at 450 degrees.

The recipe is low-carb and high in protein for anyone trying to bulk up. If you’re not, however, it just looks friggin’ delicious.

EDM DJ Marshmello Creates His Own Secret Burger That Features Charcoal Ketchup Leather

For superstar EDM DJ, Marshmello, rockin’ a massive festival proves to be an easy challenge. His ear for what can get a set poppin’ off and the handiwork he wields at his fingertips to mix and manipulate beats has lead to his astounding success in the electronic music world. But did you know those clever hands can craft a mean burger, too?

It’s an off-the-wall thought, but Marshmello has actually created a secret burger alongside Los Angeles burger hub, Plan Check Kitchen + Bar, to enter in the Secret Burger Showdown event from Postmates and Off The Menu. The meaty throw down that pits celebrities and their burger creations against each other is happening on Saturday May 26, as a part of the LA Food Bowl festivities that Angelenos have been experiencing throughout the month of May.

The details in the burger are as eclectic as the sounds Marshmello loves working with. Think Plan Check’s signature ketchup letter infused with charcoal to create the distinct facial features of the DJ right onto the burger’s house-made Swiss cheese. Other tasty trappings include a prime ribeye 28-day dry-aged patty, kombu pickles, onion, watercress, and salt & pepper mayo, all in a crunch bun. It’s a lineup of ingredients that’s just as satisfying as the beat drop after a climactic build up.

If you can’t make it out to the Secret Burger Showdown this Saturday, you can sink  your teeth into the Marshmello Burger by ordering it on Postmates or the Off The Menu app.

Attention Burger Lovers, Disneyland Is Slicing Up This Cheeseburger Pizza

Not too long ago, Disney California Adventure added a Mac n’ Cheese pizza to their menu. The pie was topped with macaroni and smoked gouda over an Alfredo base. While it was a nice addition to the traditional pizza menu at the park, it was only available for a limited time. Fortunately, Disney has another mouthwatering option to make you forget all about it.

Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta, located inside Disney California Adventure, is serving a Cheeseburger Pizza.

The pizza is topped with cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onions, and ground beef with a drizzle of white sauce to top off this meaty menu item.

You can find the Cheeseburger Pizza at Disney California Adventure along Paradise Pier at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta. Unfortunately, the park exclusive slice will only be around through the end of September.

Pass holders or anyone planning to visit the park in the next few weeks should grab a slice.

These Bite-Size ‘Pops’ Are Actually Deep Fried Burgers

The newest burgers at Slater’s 50/50 may smaller in size, but everything else about them is big — the flavors, the buzz surrounding them, and even more significantly, their impact.

Photos by Peter Pham

Exclusively available as Slater’s ‘Burger Of The Month’ during August of 2017, the premium burger chain developed a sweet and savory combination of two new burger creations that are actually smaller-scale versions of their classic ‘Old Timey’ and ‘Peanut Butter and Jellousy’ burgers — deep-fried and served on a stick.

The “Old Timey” features a Black Canyon Angus Beef patty, thick cut bacon, American cheese, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato, and 100 island dressing on a mini brioche bun, covered in crispy panko breadcrumbs, and the “Peanut Butter and Jellousy” comes with a Black Canyon Angus beef patty, thick-cut bacon, and peanut butter on a mini brioche bun, coated in chocolate cereal crumbs and smothered in strawberry jelly.

Those who are already fans of Slater’s signature burger offerings will be able to enjoy them in a whole new way, while also contributing to a powerful cause. Slater’s Burger Pops were ultimately developed in collaboration with Foodbeast and Project Hope Alliance, a Costa Mesa-based nonprofit organization committed to ending the cycle of homelessness.

A portion of the proceeds from the Burger Pops at all six Slater’s 50/50 California locations — Anaheim Hills, Huntington Beach, Pasadena, Rancho Cucamonga, San Diego, and San Marcos — will be donated to Project Hope Alliance. Even more, Elysian Brewing Company will match Slater’s 50/50’s total donation to Project Hope Alliance.

Needless to say, we expect these little guys to be pretty pop-ular.

Guess practice makes perfect, right chef?

Check out the 10-minute burger tutorial in the video above. If you’re the kind of person that’s been chasing the perfect cheeseburger your entire life, this might be a hot lead to dive into.

Throughout the years, this crispy infusion of beef, cheese and lettuce provided sustenance for members of the Rat Pack, and continue to bring the quality, freshness and taste created by Jim “Jimboy” Knudson all those years ago.

These BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Fries Might Be The Most American Meal Out There

When you think of an all-American meal, one of the classics that comes to mind is the quintessential cheeseburger with fries. Add some dope barbecue sauce and crispy bacon, and you’ve meshed together the best of American cuisine in a single meal.

A Southern California restaurant called The Kroft took that American classic and spun it on its head by turning it into a massive bowl of BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Fries. It has everything you’d expect for such a patriotic dish: burgers, cheese, fries, fried onions, and BBQ sauce. All of that right there screams “USA” in the most delicious way possible.

Plus, as an added bonus, Instagram user @dailyfoodfeed’s video shows the fries plated to look like a legit BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, complete with sesame seeds on top. The Kroft’s dish thus doesn’t just taste like the iconic American burger, it looks like it too.

Now that’s how to do a Foodbeast-worthy tribute to an iconic American meal.
