Check Out This Incredible Wood Duck Made Entirely of Cake

You’ve seen replicas of ducks everywhere from your grandma’s house to the quacking phone of MTV’s Jersey Shore house, but have you ever seen a completely edible, decoy-worthy replica of a wood duck made entirely of cake? Well, now you have.

This wooden duck cake, created Charm City Cakes‘ art director Katie Rose, has all the meticulous detailing the Charm City cakes team is known for, and the color matching to have visual designers foaming at the mouth — and have everyone else tricked into thinking this is an actual wooden duck.

A cake, disguised as a wooden duck, disguised as a real duck. Inception duck?

This is What a Divorce Cake Looks Like

What better way to turn the institution of marriage on its head than with a divorce cake?

One of cake designing house Charm City Cakes‘ latest clients wanted to celebrate the finalization of her divorce with a black cake that literally creates an image of an upside down marriage with…well, an upside down cake.

The five level cake even has an upside down bow. Divorce can be tough, but things are always better with a little cake, don’t ya think?

Here’s a Look at the Cake Served at the Battleship Movie Premiere

The premiere of Universal Pictures’ new summer film Battleship (2012) was held last night in Los Angeles, and of course there was an awesome cake to be eaten…in the shape of a battleship. Photographer Alex J. Berliner snapped a shot of the film’s director Peter Berg (above) cutting the first slice of Charm City Cake‘s latest masterpiece.

The cake features close to 50 LEDs (red to simulate cannon fire, and white strung along the mast), a built in smoke machine, a poured Isomalt base mixed with blue food coloring to simulate the ocean and a hand-painted backdrop. It took 10 people 200 hours to create this 100-pound cake.

I wonder if Rihanna will pop out?

Battleship is in theaters starting May 18th, starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna and Broolkyn Decker.

Realistic R2D2 Cake is Almost Too Good Looking to Eat

Leave it to cake design firm Charm City Cakes to turn famed Star Wars character R2D2 into a cake so realistic that we almost don’t want to cut into it.

Charm City isn’t the first cake decorating group to make an R2D2 cake, but they definitely reiterate why they should be the last.  The silhouette is masterful, the coloring and shading is inspired, and the the detail is evident down to the protruding wires at the base and the vents and grooves throughout.

The cake was released earlier this month on May 4th, reminding all cake and Star Wars fans that the Fourth is with them…if you’re into that sort of reference.

3D Chiropractic Table, That’s Completely Edible

If you work at a chiropractic office, you believe in cake, and you have the money to wild out during your anniversary party, why not commission the greats at Charm City Cakes to make a replica of your chiro table completely edible?

In celebration of a 5-year anniversary, the Baltimore, MD-based confection house Charm City Cakes built the dessert from the ground up, big enough to feed 100 guests. The entire top and bottom parts are cake, with a non-edible structure holding it up in the middle. All of the knobs and details were sugar gum paste, so you can devour those too!

Someone cut me off a sliver of that foot remote control, I’m starving.

First Date Cake — A Picnic Recreated Entirely of Cake

Charm City Cakes was recently commissioned to create another unique wedding cake (when isn’t it unique when Charm City Cakes is involved?), this time an expressive recreation of a couple’s first date. Every last detail of the couple’s first picnic date was included in the three-foot-long cake.

The snacks they were chomping in are evident — the backpack, even down to the bottles of wine with matching labels and the Dixie cups they were sipping out of. Everything you see is edible, minus the structure and the top of the bench.

Realistic Truck Cake for Veteran’s Day

Another week, another impressive Charm City Cakes creation to gawk at. This time it comes as a result of their work for the Texas-based Mission BBQ restaurant. Created for the restaurant’s Veteran’s Day celebration, the edible truck boasts some striking realism and acts as a fine recreation of the truck sitting outside in the parking lot (pictured below).
