You Can Now Add Fried Cheese Patties To Any Carl’s Jr. Menu Item

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are taking the Instagram virality of fried cheese patties and making it a ubiquitous fast food item.

The Carl’s and Hardee’s version of the food fad is known as the Big Fried Cheese (BFC), and consists of a blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses coated in a seasoned breading.

Both restaurants will be getting signature sandwiches that contain the fried cheese on the menu. Carl’s and Hardee’s will both have a BFC Angus Thickburger featuring the cheese and a 1/3 pound patty, while Hardee’s will also have a BFC Frisco Breakfast sandwich that adds egg, sliced cheese, and bacon to the gooey concoction.

These aren’t the only offerings the BFC can be added to, however. Any burger or breakfast sandwich that either fast food chain offers up can also get a fried cheese patty upgrade. At a $3 upcharge, everything from Beyond Famous Stars to Grilled Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches can get the molten, fried cheese disc added on.

All Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations nationwide now have the Big Fried Cheese on the menu, which appears to be a permanent menu option.

Carl’s Jr. Adds Beyond Burger, Confirms Plant-Based Burgers Have Gone Mainstream

2019 is kicking off with a historic moment in fast food: Plant-based burger alternatives, like the Impossible Burger and Beyond burger, have finally become mainstream.

This moment is coming courtesy of Carl’s Jr., who has added the vegan Beyond Burger as an option to its menu nationwide. They’ve worked with purveyor Beyond Meat to create a patty that cooks just like their standard burgers and mimics the the taste and appearance as well.

Right now, the go-to way to order Carl’s newest addition is the Beyond Famous Star, which is the meat-free homage to the burger chain’s signature sandwich. It does come with mayo and cheese, but these can removed for those looking for a 100% vegan burger experience.

Carl’s Jr. is selling the Beyond Famous Star starting at $6.29, putting it on par with the prices of its standard charbroiled burgers. You can also change the burger on any other Carl’s Jr. offering to a Beyond patty for a $2 upcharge.

This marks the largest plant-based burger partnership in the nation to date, as Carl’s 1,100-plus locations carrying the Beyond patty easily surpasses the 400-plus White Castle locations selling Impossible Burger sliders. With their combined reach, it’s paved the way to get a plant-based fast food burger across the entire country.

Carl’s Jr. Creates Triple-Stacked Slider As Part Of New Mini Burger Lineup

Carl’s Jr. just dropped a lineup of massive snack-sized burgers into their menu, including a triple-stacked slider that has as much beef as a regular hamburger.

The new Charbroiled Sliders come in single, double, or triple patty versions. Meant to be a new snack option for Carl’s, the largest slider can actually be a meal on its own. That’s because each patty weighs in at 1.3 ounces, meaning eating a Triple Slider is basically the same thing as downing a quarter pound burger. Except it’s about triple the height, which means I’m gonna have a hard time loosening my jaw to get around the whole thing.

The sliders are definitely on the cheap end, and appear to be Carl’s Jr.’s foray into the fast food ultra-cheap value menu wars. The single slider is just $1, the double slider costs $1.50, and the triple slider is $2. Each one gets topped with classic burger fixings: American cheese, mustard, ketchup, pickle, and diced onion.

You can also get the sliders in a $5 Box, which comes with two double sliders, fries, a 20 oz. drink, and a chocolate chip cookie.

Carl’s Jr. is also debuting a “Happy Hour” that just involves the double-stacked sliders. From 2-5 pm daily, their price will drop down to a buck. It does seem like a small discount, but if you take advantage of the “Happy Hour,” you’re basically ordering single sliders and getting double the meat. It’s all about the gains, y’all.

All of these offers involving the sliders will be around until April 24.

Carl’s Jr. Debuts Spicy Chorizo-Loaded Breakfast Biscuits and Burritos

We at Foodbeast hold these truths to be self-evident: that side salads are depressing, that life is too short to eat bad food, and that when deciding a breakfast protein, one must always choose bacon. Unless one of the other options is chorizo.

The spicy seasoned sausage has slowly but steadily creeped onto chain breakfast menus over the years, and is now available at Carl’s Jr. in both biscuit or burrito form. Sandwiched inside a “Made from Scratch” biscuit, the Chorizo, Egg & Cheese Biscuit offers a chorizo crumble-laden egg patty topped with pepperjack. The Chorizo, Egg & Cheese Burrito, on the other hand, stuffs the chorizo crumbles and scrambled eggs inside a soft flour tortilla, along with shredded cheese, hash browns, and pico de gallo.

As an early morning dessert, Carl’s also recently debuted its new monkey bread-style Cinnamon Pull-Aparts. Which are just pull-aparts for fun of course, because God knows we’re not sharing.

X-Men Themed Burgers from Carl’s Jr. Come Loaded with X-tra Bacon

The upcoming X-Men movie Days of Future Past may not make a lick of sense, but mo’ bacon always does.

In a promotional tie-in similar to last year’ s Superman-themed “Super Bacon Cheeseburger” and 2012’s Spiderman-themed “Amazing Grilled Cheese Bacon Burger,” Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s is now offering another X-TREMELY baconed-out set of sandwiches, in honor of the new X-Men film.

The first is the Western X-tra Bacon Cheeseburger, which comes with four strips of bacon, American cheese, beef patties, barbecue sauce, and o-rings. The other is the X-tra Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit, featuring four slices of bacon, an egg patty, American cheese, and a buttermilk biscuit, for breakfast only.

Presumably, you won’t have to send yourself to the past in order to nab one of these little piggies, but you should probably stop by a Carl’s Jr/Hardee’s ASAP. When in doubt, just remember this little maxim: “If your future self doesn’t come back to stop you, how bad a decision can it be?”
