Samoa Cookie-Flavored FroYo Debuts Nationwide

girlscoutfroyo

Try as we might, it’s hard to justify a Girl Scout cookie’s place in a healthy diet. At 70 calories per cookie, caramellly, coconuttty, and chocolatey Samoas are the worst of the bunch. But thanks to a new collaboration between the Girl Scout brand and frozen yogurt chain Menchie’s, you can now get your favorite guilty pleasure in froyo form. Suh-weet!

The catchily named Caramel Coconut Cookie Craze is the first Girl Scout-approved frozen yogurt flavor of its kind. Available at select Menchie’s locations until the end of April, it features a blend of real cocoa, caramel, and coconut flavors that you can then top with — yep — actual Thin Mint or Samoa pieces.

As far as nutrition goes, each 1/2 cup of the Caramel Craze is 120 calories, which, if you think about it, isn’t all that healthier than just eating the cookie. But at least you’ll feel better about it. That’s the important part.

Samoa Jello Shots in September, Because F@#K Seasonal Logic

samoajelloshots

Seasonal food items are the worst. Pumpkin, peppermint, Girl Scout Cookies. Who are you, food industry gods, to tell me when I can and can’t have my damn Samoas? If you’re sick of the waiting game (or, alternatively, the non-waiting game that brings us pumpkin spice lattes the last week of August), it’s time (yay chronology jokes) we fought back the best way we know how.

With alcohol.

Caramel, coconut cream, chocolate sauce, toasted coconut, chocolate chips, rum and gelatin are all you need to deliciously protest our nation’s arbitrary food availability. Yes you can have Girl Scout Cookies in September. No, you don’t have to pair them with Candy Corn Oreos. Luckily, jello shots are perfect all year round.

Peep the recipe for Samoa Jello Shots over at My Jello Americans.

Girl Scout Cookie Popsicles, Because This Sh*t Should Be Portable

samoa

For whatever awful reason, it’s generally frowned upon to walk around eating straight from an ice cream carton, but chances are your local truck doesn’t tote your favorite Girl Scout Cookie flavor either. You could just get the weird Bugs Bunny gumball head again, but deep down, you know that nothing could ever quite satisfy your craving for cool frozen coconut and caramel quite like a bite of Dreyer’s Slow Churned Samoa Ice Cream.

Wellll, except maybe this.

Prettier and lighter than the original – these Samoa popsicles by Jamie of My Baking Addiction used coconut pudding, chopped Samoa cookies (or Caramel Delites, if you’re feeling particularly PC this morning), chocolate Magic Shell and toasted coconut to create pretty much the most necessary thing ever. Frozen Girl Scout Cookies in the summer = 1000% yes.

Liquid Gold: Girl Scout Coffee Creamers

coffeemate1

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I could have sworn summer was all about lightening up – shedding clothing layers, eating fresher foods, squeezing lemon into our roots. But it seems the folks at Coffee-mate didn’t quite get the message, since they just unveiled a pair of Girl Scout Cookie-inspired coffee creamer flavors – Thin Mint and Caramel & Coconut (AKA Samoas and/or Caramel Delites) – at least three months after anyone would drink them.

It’s cruel, really. Here we all are, trying our damnedest to fit into bikinis and speedos, suffering night sweats thinking about all the deep fried fair foods we shouldn’t be eating, and they have to torment us with Girl Scout Cookies? It’s no wonder so many Facebook fans have been begging Nestle to create sugar and fat-free versions of these things. We. Can’t. Drink. Them. Or at least we shouldn’t. No, no, we really can’t, we’re on diets. Ugh, okay, we guess a sip wouldn’t hurt. Yes, that’s considered a sip. Don’t judge us, you don’t know our lives!

The new creamers are expected to hit store shelves nationwide soon at $2.69/16 ounces per bottle.
