Butter Chicken Calzone Is The International Mash-Up We All Deserve

Butter chicken, an Indian dish, is considered a favorite by many and owes its universal appeal to it’s creamy, indulgent sauce that enrobes tender chunks of chicken. Also, butter and chicken — it’s a name that invokes mouth-watering visions of each item somehow coming together beautifully.

Now imagine it suddenly becoming hand-held, ready at your fingertips for many convenient bites. Superkhana in Chicago, Illinois somehow made this a possibility by incorporating an Italian twist — make it a calzone. It’s wild on paper, but if you think about it, a calzone serves as the perfect vessel for the golden goodness of butter chicken.

Born from the imagination of Chefs Yoshi Yamada, Zeeshan Shah, and Jason Hammel, the butter chicken calzone represents the modern takes on Indian cuisine that Superkhana hangs its hat on. Through unique avenues of technique and application, Superkhana has become a Chicago hotspot in the short time its been open, one where homage to traditional dishes is shown through a modern lens. In short, the restaurant is celebrating both Indian and American cuisine through innovation rooted in a mastery of core cooking principles.

P’Zones Are Officially Coming Back To Pizza Hut Menus

If you’ve been waiting for P’Zones to return to Pizza Hut menus in the USA, your patience has finally paid off.

The cult-favorite take on the calzone is coming to menus nationwide starting today as a part of the chain’s March Madness Lineup. Three flavors of the cheesy dough-filled pockets will be available, including Pepperoni, Meaty, and Supremo. They’ll be served with marinara sauce for dipping.

For those wondering, P’Zones last came back to menus in 2011, when they stuck around for a bit before finally being discontinued. They’ve been on and off the menu since their debut in 2002.

For this release, you can expect the P’Zones to be available at least through the March Madness NCAA tournaments. Pizza Hut didn’t provide a more specific timeline than that, but also isn’t officially calling this a limited-time option. Thus, they could be around for the long haul afterward, so who knows?

P’Zones will be sold individually, but the Pepperoni version will also be part of Pizza Hut’s $5 Lineup as well as on the regular menu.

These Calzones Are Stuffed With Spam Musubi And The Cheese Pulls Are Insane

If you’re a fan of Spam Musubi, you’re going to love its Italian cousin, the Spam Musubi Calzone.

The Pizzaburger is Everything You Could Want It To Be And More

Back in 2010, Burger King announced its NY Pizza Burger, which was four times the size of a regular burger, came on a nine-and-a-half inch sesame bun and, at $13 a pop, contained just over 2,500 calories. Despite all the fanfare, however, it was really just an oversized Whopper with cuts in it.

This, on the other hand, is a work of art.

Brought to us by one of Canada’s largest casual dining chains, Boston Pizza, the Pizza Burger is admittedly more like a burger calzone than a pizza burger and comes in two varieties: The Pepperoni & Bacon and the Five-Cheese. The Pepperoni & Bacon features toasted pizza dough surrounding a half-pound prime rib patty with pizza sauce, pepperoni, bacon and mozzarella, and the Five-Cheese envelops the patty with mozzarella, cheddar, feta, asiago and parmesan.

Currently, the Pizzaburger is available at all 345 Boston Pizza locations across Canada from now until June 2, but unfortunately the company, which is known as Boston’s: The Gourmet Pizza, has announced no plans to introduce the menu item in the States, though we all know it totally should.

Come on, it’s a burger in pizza form or a pizza in burger form. Let’s not let Canada have all the fun.

Pizza Taco Calzone

Looking at this particular creation, I can’t exactly fathom a better “I’m-stoned-give-me-food” meal. Next time you’re high, drunk or…just in the mood for some shenanigans,  take a crispy taco, cheese sauce, and shredded cheese, wrap it in a personal sized cheese pizza, and then deep fry the entire thing. I would have someone help you on the deep-fry step if you are indeed high or drunk. You have been warned. Eat on though. (PicThx TIWYF)

The Eggsac: Calzone Stuffed With Pizza Rolls

Pizza Rolls used to be the highlight of my afternoon growing up in middle school. After a long hard day of simple addition, cursive q’s and z’s (fuck z’s…actually…fuck cursive, I haven’t used it once in the real world), I would run to the freezer, grab a box of pizza rolls and throw them in the microwave. Recently, someone took this childhood nostlagia to another level. They took a calzone and stuffed it with mini calzones, aka pizza rolls. Is this a game changer? I’ll let you fellow Foodbeasts decide… (PicThx TIWYF)

Calskrove: Burger + Fries Baked Inside a Calzone
