“13 Planes. 2 Dogsleds. 1 Hamburger.” That’s what one of the taglines of the new Burger King documentary entails. With campaign after campaign that never ceases to impress, the creative minds behind the Burger King marketing division will be taking to different parts of the world to partake in an epic style burger-selection campaign reminscent of the Coke-vs-Pepsi campaign that still reigns today. In what looks to be amazingly photographed (check out the website, it’s awesome!), this journey is set to release some time Sunday, December 7th 2008. Whopper Virgins…wear protection!
I’ve always been interested in Burger King’s advertising campaigns. The King is one of the most revered and notable fast food mascots in the game, and with this new guerrilla-style advertising, Burger King has littered the streets of Chicago with upwards of 5,000 abandoned wallets. Each wallet contains actual cash, ranging from $1 bills, to $100 bills, a gift card to Burger King, a driver’s license featuring The King and a map to all the local area Burger King restaurants. There have been reports that this campaign is not limited to the Chicago area, we will keep our ear to the streets if we discover this popping up elsewhere (make sure to e-mail us if you find one!). (Thx SoGood)
The King is showing his holiday spirit by giving away 500 Nintendo Wii gaming systems. With the purchase of a Wii-themed Burger King Crown Card, you get a detachable instant win game piece that gives you the chance to snag one the funnest consoles around. The offer is good while supplies last through January 4. You can get your Crown Card in-store or online at bkcrowncard.com. If you love Whoppers, or know someone who does, scoop up a BK Crown Card so you can get you Wii-Boxing on by the new year.
