This Cafe Created A Chorizo Cheese Donut I’d Happily Eat For Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner

We’ve seen quite a few donuts in our day, but this one really takes the ring-shaped cake.

Cafe Calacas in downtown Santa Ana, CA, created a new Queso Fundido Chorizo Brioche Donut.

Like its literal name, the item features a brioche donut topped with a creamy blend of fundido cheese that’s mixed with savory chorizo.

The item will make its first appearance at the second annual cheese festival known as Oozefest, which will take place on Saturday Oct. 15 and Sunday Oct. 16.

If you want to try the donut, you’re gonna have to grab some VIP tickets to the event. Those ensure you can get all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink for the entirety of your time at Oozefest.

Hopefully, with enough hype, the donuts may become a permanent addition to the restaurant’s bakery options.

KFC’s New Cheese-Covered Donut Is Probably Amazing, Trust Us

Say hello to KFC Indonesia’s latest, the Cheese-Covered Donut.

Presumably because no one wants a greasy deep-fried bucket of drumsticks for breakfast (for some reason), KFC Indonesia has “KFC Coffee” kiosks in addition to its regular chicken-hawking chain. Most of what they serve would probably be familiar to an American palate: Cinnamon Donuts, Blueberry Donuts, Hazelnut Coffee. However, in several Asian countries, cheese desserts are king. Similar to the Filipino brioche “ensaymada,” KFC’s Cheese Donut features a plain glaze topped with a blend of grated Swiss and cheddar, giving the whole treat a salty nuttiness that should cut nicely into the sweetness of the bread.

Now if only we could get #ensaymadacronut trending.

IHOP’s Brioche French Toast is the Best Thing Since Sliced (French) Bread

IHOP has changed the lives of French toast fans forever by rolling out a line of brand new Brioche French toast. For the unenlightened, Brioche is the French bread equivalent of sinking your teeth into a cloud — a buttery, fluffy, slightly flaky cloud with just a hint of sweetness. Now imagine that as the foundation for French toast, and you’ll see why IHOP’s announcement has everyone all hot and bothered. And because apparently drowning us in a sea of buttery goodness wasn’t enough, they decided to add a bunch of delicious fruit toppings. Toppings, people.
