Bruegger’s Bagels Just Launched A Massive Brunch Box That Feeds An Entire Family

My early morning bagel runs have become something I’ve missed terribly since the “Stay At Home” mandate was issued over here in California. Sure, someone more masterful in the kitchen can probably make their own bagels to spread with cream cheese, but let’s not kid ourselves that I’d be one of those individuals. Give me a shop bagel caked in garlic and onion any day of the week.

For those missing their bagel fix, Bruegger’s Bagels is offering a Hot & Ready Brunch Box that will essentially feed an entire family of 6-8 — or a dude like myself who just misses his morning routine for at least a couple meals.

The box includes 6 fresh baked bagels, a tube of cream cheese, 1 Farmhouse Egg Sandwich, 2 Egg, Peppered Bacon & Cheddar Sandwiches, 4 Blueberry Muffins, and 4 Twice Baked Hash Browns.

Yes. That’ll do nicely.

For anyone interested in getting their hands on this delightful Brunch Box, you can find it at any participating Bruegger’s Bagels location for $29.99. If you’re noting looking to leave the house, home delivery is available through DoorDash.

McDonald’s Cuts Menu Items And All-Day Breakfast Due To COVID-19

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, it looks like McDonald’s will be going through a pretty big change in the weeks to come. Fans of the fast food giant may soon find a much more limited menu upon their next visit.

According to Business Insider, an internal document from McDonald’s states that they plan on cutting some menu items in efforts to simplify their nationwide over the next few weeks.

This means you might not see items such as grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken salads, or chicken tenders for a while.

McDonald’s senior Vice President of operations Bill Garrett, told Business Insider that this is to simplify operations in the kitchens and for the McDonald’s crew and create the best experience (in this viral crisis) for customers.

Another big blow to the menu is that McDonald’s All-Day Breakfast will take a, hopefully, temporary step back. Items such as the Sausage Egg and Cheese McMuffin, McGriddles, and Biscuits will only be available once again during breakfast hours.

No word yet on when this will officially take place, but we’re optomistic that once the pandemic ends we’ll see the All-Day Breakfast Menu and slashed items return to the Golden Arches one day. Until then, we bid a sorrowful see you later.

Taco Bell Debuts Three New TOASTED Breakfast Burritos

Taco Bell has carved a lane for themselves in the fast food breakfast game by continually introducing new items to its morning menu since its launch in 2014. Keeping this momentum, The Bell will roll out three new breakfast burritos on March 12: the Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burrito, the Hash Brown Toasted Breakfast Burrito and the Grande Toasted Breakfast Burrito.

Shown in our newest News Bites, the Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burrito keeps it true to Taco Bell by using its signature nacho cheese along with a classic combo of egg and sausage, and only costs $1.

The Hash Brown Toasted Breakfast Burrito is carried by an entire hash brown patty inside of it, but also has eggs, a three cheese blend, and your choice of sausage or bacon.

The Grande Toasted Breakfast Burrito is a beast of a burrito. It comes with eggs, a three cheese blend, fresh pico de gallo, potato bites, and your choice of bacon, sausage, or steak — making it one of the most hefty and most satisfying things on the breakfast menu.

Now, Taco Bell has indeed had breakfast burritos before, but this is their first time introducing this toasted burrito lineup. And, realistically, crisping up the tortilla and melting the cheese automatically makes any breakfast burrito 50% better, at the very least. Trust me, this math is tried and true, so I’m here for the toasting.

Like anything at The Bell, what’s actually listed as the ingredients on the menu won’t limit customization. So, naturally, resident Foodbeast Elie Ayrouth got a tip to put the Cinnabon Delights inside the burritos, to which he immediately obliged. Lo and behold, out came three breakfast burritos brimming with those lustfully sweet balls of cinnamon. Don’t ask why, just do it.

If you want to peep what a breakfast burrito looks like with Cinnabon Delights stuffed inside it, or just want to catch a view of the new items, check the video embedded above.

Starbucks Quietly Debuts Breakfast Burritos Nationwide

Starbucks is tailor made to be a go-to breakfast spot, what with their coffee, bagels, and pastries. Now they’ve added a menu item that was a glaring omission for some time, and seems like an obvious acquisition.

A breakfast burrito.

Starbucks just added a Bacon, Sausage and Egg Wrap, and a Southwest Veggie Wrap, making sure to please both meat-eaters and vegetarians alike.

While they’re called “wraps” there’s no question these are breakfast burritos. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a breakfast burrito.

The meaty breakfast wrap contains bacon, sausage, cage-free scrambled egg, cheddar cheese and even sous vide potatoes, all within a flour tortilla.

The veggie version opts for a bright red “salsa tortilla,” with eggs, black beans, sous vide potatoes, pico de gallo, jalapeno cream cheese and cotija cheese nestled within.

Believe it or not, they’re decently priced at $5.45 per burrito in Southern California, and are a little bigger than you’d expect.

They’re definitely not as girth-y as Chipotle’s burritos, but aren’t as small as your typical frozen burrito. They sit somewhere in between, and we’re here for it.

As far as flavor, they could use some salt, or a dab of your favorite salsa, but they’re not terrible by Starbucks standards.

Like most foods at Starbucks, they are pre-packaged, so don’t expect the fresh experience of a handmade burrito, but they’ll do the job when you’re short on time and want a quick breakfast burrito fix.

Starbucks Launches A Beyond Meat Breakfast Sandwich In Canada

Plant-based proteins are finally making it onto fast food breakfast menus and as a breakfast lover who’s unable to eat meat for the next few months, I couldn’t be happier to have another morning option that isn’t fruit or oatmeal.

After flocks of customer requests to add more diverse protein options to the menu, Starbucks locations throughout Canada will be releasing a Beyond Meat Breakfast Sandwich early next week. Next week, Beyond Meat fans up north will be able to sink their teeth into these meatless breakfast sandwiches.

The Beyond Meat, Cheddar, and Egg Sandwich is made with a 100% plant-based Beyond Breakfast Sausage comprised of ingredients such as soy, peas, brown rice, and gluten. Paired with a fried egg, and a slice of cheddar cheese, the sandwich is loaded between two slices of English Muffin.

While meatless, the new breakfast sandwich isn’t truly vegan — as it still contains egg and cheese. The chain, however, says all you have to do is take the egg and cheese off upon ordering to get that full vegan effect.

Look for this new sandwich at all Starbucks locations across Canada beginning March 3.

Full disclosure, I own a share of Beyond Meat.

Pop-Tarts Dropping New Pretzel Flavors Nationwide

There might not be a food out there with more variations than Pop-Tarts. From flavors that prompt a sturdy “what the hell?” to ones that make you think “…that might actually work,” the people behind the famous toaster pastry keep the creative wheels moving.

Their newest flavors lean toward an innovative side of the spectrum, as they gear up to take their shot at sweet and salty with Pop-Tarts Pretzel.

The newest additions to the toaster pastry aisle sets themselves apart with a pretzel pastry crust that’s topped with a coarse salt.

In January 2020, they’ll be available in two flavors nationwide: Chocolate and Cinnamon Sugar. The former is topped with a drizzle of chocolate icing while the latter opts for an icing resembling that of a cinnamon roll.

As someone who was always grossed out by the sickly sweet Pop-Tart variations, it’s promising to see the brand pivot into a different flavor profile. I might have to go cop a pack and give it a try in the only acceptable fashion: while watching cartoons on the floor, just like I would after school.

Denny’s Begins Serving Beyond Burgers

Last week, Dunkin’ Donuts announced the introduction of plant-based protein Beyond Meat to their menus in the form of new breakfast ‘sausage’ sandwiches. Now, another major chain has revealed that they’ve been cooking something up with Beyond, and it looks to be the first family diner chain to do so.

Denny’s has announced that they will begin serving Beyond Burgers at their restaurant locations.

The new meatless protein option will be available at all Los Angeles locations of Denny’s as of today. It features a 100% plant-based Beyond Burger patty that’s topped with sliced tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, American cheese, and Denny’s All-American sauce on a multigrain bun.

In honor of the new menu addition, Denny’s will be giving away free Beyond Burgers (with the purchase of any beverage) on Halloween Night from 4pm to 7pm. Anyone in the Los Angeles area looking for some plant-based sustenance during their night of spookiness will definitely want to check it out.

While they will only be served at LA locations, Denny’s plans to give Beyond Burgers a nationwide launch in 2020.

Full disclosure, I own a share of Beyond Meat.
