McDonald’s Introducing New Steak Breakfast Items

It’s a late night in Vegas. You’ve miraculously found your way back to your hotel room, your not-so-designated driver’s passed the f@#k out and you’re fiending – fiending! – for $5 steak and eggs. Do you steal the keys and lurch your inebriated ass down to Tuscany off the strip? Do you ignore your unbearable, unfathomable foot pain and hoof it?

Not if McDonald’s has a say. Along with the new Mighty Wings and Egg White McMuffin, the Golden Arches are introducing a new Steak, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, Bagel and McMuffin as part of their upgraded menu. Granted, $5 anywhere else in Vegas gets you your choice of steak temperature, egg style, toast type and hash browns whereas $5 at McDonald’s probably just gets you an overcooked patty on some bread (“premium” menu items, you know).

But as long as it’s included on the Breakfast After Midnight menu, who’s complaining? Everyone who walked all the way to Tuscany, that’s for sure.

McDonald’s Planning to Serve Breakfast All Day?

Jack in the Box has got it all figured out. Fully aware that no one in his right mind would ever willingly eat their grease-drenched $1 “tacos,” they instead targeted those who weren’t in their right minds (hello, hangover food!). And now it seems McDonald’s is finally catching on.

Following the success of their newly launched “Breakfast After Midnight” menu, McDonald’s is apparently wising up to the fact that select segments of the general population just happen to like starting their days at, say, 2 in the afternoon.

According to CNBC, McDonald’s President and CEO Don Thompson recently revealed in an interview that the fast food giant has “looked at” serving breakfast all day, and that the expansion could take effect sometime “in the near future.”

It’s not enough to have breakfast all day though. Why not the whole menu all day? Yes, french fries for breakfast, I see you.

Wake and McBake: McDonald’s to Offer Breakfast after Midnight

In an attempt to tap into the McStoner, McNightOwl, McHellaEarlyBird and McClosingShift market, McDonald’s is currently testing a new Breakfast after Midnight menu at all its 24-hour locations in central Ohio.

As relayed by Burger Business, less than 1% of customer traffic at quick-service restaurants comes by between the hours of 2 and 5 a.m. The new campaign, dubbed the “Nocturnivore,” aims to increase that number by satisfying the gamut of late-night McMunchies, from french fries to hash browns and (pretty much) everything in between.

The BAM is available from midnight to 10 a.m., and includes Egg McMuffins, Sausage McMuffins, hotcakes with sausage, breakfast burritos, Fruit and Maple Oatmeal, hash browns, juice and coffee.

And yes, I am lovin’ it.
