KFC Created A Sexy Romance Novel You Can Download For Free On Amazon

There’s nothing sexier than fried chicken. Let’s get that straight. We could be on the red carpet with glamorous models and movie stars alike, and our eyes will wander to the nearest bucket of extra crispy every time.

Kentucky Fried Chicken is taking that very appeal and dipping their juicy drumsticks into the world of steamy romance novels with their first-ever novella: Tender Wings of Desire.

Let that finger-licking concept simmer in your taste buds for a moment.

Here’s an official description of the book, as if your interest wasn’t piqued already:

When Lady Madeline Parker runs away from Parker Manor and a loveless betrothal, she finally feels like she is in control of her life. But what happens when she realizes she can’t control how she feels? When she finds herself swept into the arms of Harland, a handsome sailor with a mysterious past, Madeline realizes she must choose between a life of order and a man of passion. Can love overcome lies? What happens in the embrace of destiny, on the Tender Wings of Desire?

Fried chicken? Love? The Colonel as a sexy sailor? This book seems to have it all.

If you’re interested, the novella is available on Amazon, where it can be downloaded freely for Kindle users. According to Bustle, 100 fans will be surprised with hard copies of the book through the KFC Facebook page.

A Dr. Seuss Breakfast Restaurant Is Opening In Colorado And You Know What’s On The Menu

A restaurant in Fort Collins, CO is preparing to open their doors and they have a pretty colorful gimmick to draw in new patrons. We’ll give you a hint, one of the dishes features green and ham.

According to The Coloradoan, Sammy’s Breakfast Bar will serve a Dr. Seuss-inspired menu for breakfast and lunch. As you probably expected, the menu will draw inspiration from the classic novel Green Eggs ‘N Ham. Decor inside the 90-seat establishment will also reflect the beloved children’s book series.

Other dishes for the restaurant will include a variety of Eggs Benedict dishes, peanut butter and jelly-stuffed pancakes, and a bar stacked with mimosas and bloody marys.

The upcoming restaurant is set to open in late December and will feature the iconic dish Sam I Am initially wanted no part of before succumbing to its deliciousness.

You Can Now Get WASTED At These Barnes & Noble Bookstores

With Amazon shipping you pretty much anything you could want in a matter of days, it’s kind of understandable that book retailers are getting harder and harder to find. Seriously, we miss you Borders. Barnes & Noble Booksellers, considered the one of the last major book retailers in the United States, has devised a plan to get more customers in the doors and away from online shopping: Booze.

CNN Money reports that the bookstore chain will open four new concept stories that will begin serving food, beer and wine. While some locations already have little coffee cafes, the concepts will more than likely lean towards something a little more gourmet than pastries and coffee.

The four locations will be in Eastchester, NY, Edina, MN, Folsom, CA, and Loudon, VA.

Our only concern is a bunch of drunk people in a bookstore. Kinda feels like throwing a bull into a China shop. Ah well, we’re sure they’ll figure it out. It’s not like it’s a library.

This 24-Hour Coffee Shop Has Video Games, Books, Costumes & More

Nerds, dorks and dweebs, unite! A young man named Kristopher Irons had a dream to create a 24-hour coffee shop that panders to geeks and gamers alike, so what did he do? The next logical thing of course: he started a Kickstarter campaign to create his dream coffee shop, Requiem.

Screen Shot 2016-04-20 at 5.19.06 PM

Final Fantasy fans might recognize the font and style of the coffee shop’s name.

Irons realized that outside of the world’s largest geek conventions (such as Comiket with 590,000 people, gamescon with 335,000, Japan Expo with 240,000 and San Diego and New York Comic Cons, with 130,000 and 150,000 people, respectively), there is no place that’s not online for friends and fans of anime, comics, games, movies, tv shows, books and other mediums of geekdom to gather, discuss and socialize.

“Sports fans have sports bars where they can go for countless hours…why don’t fans of anime, books, cartoons, comics, movies, tv shows, or video games?”

He even made a pretty good observation about how large groups of people are (and should be) catered to: “Sports fans have sports bars where they can go for countless hours to feel at home, surrounded by people who understand their passions — why don’t fans of anime, books, cartoons, comics, movies, tv shows, or video games?”

Anyone who has ever played a game like Zelda will recognize these colorful “potions”

Being a gamer, I can proudly say I’ve spent countless hours playing video games, often going into the ridiculous hours of the morning. Irons can relate, which is why his startup coffee joint will be open 24 hours a day! Being a nerd myself, I’m very familiar with the whole “bullies and nerds” culture. Irons seems to also know it, since he puts a big emphasis on the fact that no harassment at all will be tolerated in his coffee shop. It’s meant to be a safe haven where people can feel comfortable being themselves.

Irons will also be implementing a “stop and go” system of sorts. If someone is happy to socialize and willing to let people approach his or her table, he’ll turn his table cone over to reveal the green cone. If he or she simply wants to snuggle up with a book, a cup of coffee and their thoughts, they can flip the cone over to the red side.

The coffee shop will have four general areas based on common themes throughout a variety of popular games. One area will be a Sci-fi area similar to those seen in games like Halo and Destiny, another corner will be a woodland shire-type area, much like Zelda and Skyrim, one corner will take inspiration from castles, cathedrals and other large structures commonly found in RPGs, and the last corner will feature the retro-modern stylings often associated with steampunk trends and the 50s/60s.

Requiem will be located in Anaheim, California, close to the Disneyland area, so that guests anywhere from LA to San Diego will be able to take a short trip to reach their mini Comic Con destination. The shop will also have cosplay items for use, board and card games, high speed internet for gaming, art supplies for artists, a community board to find others with the same interest, and a huge supply of books and comics at your disposal. If you want to donate to this genius idea, check out the Kickstarter campaign here!

Well, it looks like I’ve found my new home…so who’s coming with me? In the words of Super Mario, “Let’s a-go!”

Listen to Bryan Cranston Narrate ‘You Have to F*cking Eat,’ a Kids Book for Adults

When LeVar Burton read the “Go the Fuck to Sleep,” a kids-themed book for adults, the Internet broke. Adam Mansbach, the author of the book, now has another follow-up to his 2011 hit entitled “You Have to Fucking Eat” and it looks like he snagged another big name to narrate it.

Readers may remember Bryan Cranston from the popular Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Cranston has since made a few guest appearances on other shows, though we feel like we’ve might have left out a career highlight for the talented actor.

The book, like its predecessor, utilizes some colorful language to encourage children eat their meals.

Cranston joins the high-caliber selection of actors asked to narrate the Mansbach books. Along with Burton, Cranston’s colleagues include Morgan Freeman and Samuel L. Jackson.

Check out a brief preview of the audiobook which is also available for a free download through the next month.

YAY(-ish): Mcdonald’s Replacing Happy Meal Toys with Books

You may have heard of McDonald’s somewhat-sketchy agreement not to advertise soft drinks for its Happy Meals, but apparently the fast food leviathan’s campaign to improve the wellbeings of America’s youth is far from over.

From November 1 through 14, all tiny plastic playthings will vanish from McDonald’s kids’ meals in favor of four original paperback books featuring the “Goat Who Ate Everything,” Deana the Dinosaur,  Doddi the Dodo Bird, and an ant. The stories themselves are meant to promote “healthy eating” and the campaign launch coincides with National Literacy Day on November 1. Sadly, Ronald McDonald, the Hamburglar and Grimace are nowhere to be seen.

“We think that this is a fun and engaging way to give a nutritional message to kids,” Ubong Ituen, VP of marketing for McDonald’s USA, told AdAge.

Which, you know, is all well and good. But good luck convincing your kids not to eat at Burger King the whole time.
