Einstein Bros. Just Created Bagels Made Entirely Of Eggs

While sous vide egg bites have taken the breakfast world by storm in recent years, bagel chain Einstein Bros. has taken the concept a step further and made entire bagels out of the eggs.

Their new “Eggels” are marketed as a gluten-free alternative to bagels, and are prepared the same way as a sous vide egg bite you might find in a grocery store or Starbucks. The big difference is obviously the size and shape of the fluffy eggs.

Einstein Bros. is releasing their Eggels in two different flavors: a Three Meat and Cheese Eggel with bacon, turkey sausage and ham, and a Veggie Egg White variety loaded with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, and spinach.

It’ll be intriguing to see how well the egg bagels hold together, considering how light sous vide eggs can be when cooked. I’m also tempted to split one in half and schmear it in cream cheese, just like a regular bagel, to see how that turns out.

You can now find these Eggels at Einstein Bros. locations nationwide, excluding those in airports, universities, and hotels.

This GIANT EVERYTHING BAGEL PIZZA Took Pro Eaters A Half Hour To Conquer

In my youth, I’ve demolished more Bagel Bites than I’ve cared to remember. The idea of combining pizza toppings with the chewy texture of a bagel surface was brilliant and dangerously easy to make.

Now imagine those mouthwatering Bagel Bites from your childhood was hit by Rick Moranis’ giant ray from Honey, I Blew Up The Kid. That’s exactly what the collaboration between two Orange County, CA, restaurants created in this Giant Everything Bagel Pizza.

The massive bagel starts off at Shirley’s Bagels where it is formed, boiled, and topped with ‘everything’ herbs and spices like garlic powder, poppy seeds, and sea salt. Once it’s double-baked in the oven, the giant wheel-sized bagels are delivered to Sgt. Pepperonis where they are sliced in half and loaded with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.

What results is a masterpiece that equates to about 6 pounds of mouthwatering teamwork.

Competitive eaters Crazy Raina and Freakeating both attempted to eat this giant pizza bagel on Foodbeast’s live Twitch challenge. While both were able to demolish the pizza, Freakeating beat Raina’s time 28 minutes to  her 33 minutes.

Hats off to you, sir.

The pizza collaboration will be available through the month of March. If you want to check out more live streams, make sure to follow and subscribe to Foodbeast on Twitch.

Behold The Baogel, Your New Favorite Hand-Held Food To Go

Food fusions have been capturing social media and our bellies for some time now. The rise of this trend arguably started with the cronut, a mix between a donut and a croissant, and eventually led us to a Mac-and-cheese pizza topped with Cheetos.

Black Seeds Bagels, one of New York’s finest bagel joints that serves Montreal-style bagels, and Nom Wah Kuai, the always popular dim sum spot, has joined forces to introduce us to a new trendy taste bomb: the Baogel.

The baogel, which is a combination of a bagel and a bao bun, will be filled with Nom Wah’s popular signature sweet pork belly, wrapped in Black Seed’s sesame bagel dough, and served with a house made chili cream cheese.

The decadent indulgence will be available throughout November at all three Black Seed locations in Nolita, East Village, and Brookfield Place, and also at Nom Wah Kuai in Canal Street Market.

For those who are always on the go, this hand-held fusion dish is perfect for those who want to be efficient and trendy, two things New Yorkers know best.

Lay’s Announces ‘Do Us A Flavor’ Finalists Including ‘Tacos’ And ‘Bagels’

As with previous years, Lay’s asked fans to stretch their taste buds and creative muscles and come up with brand-new flavors for the potato chip brand.

The company has just announced the three finalists for this year’s Do Us A Flavor competition: Everything Bagel, Crispy Tacos, and Fried Green Tomatoes.

Kinda wish this year’s batch of finalists were a little more… outlandish. Like if they made a bag of chips flavored like Jollibee’s infamous gravy.

The three finalists will have their flavors voted upon and one will win the coveted title of MasterChef $1 million.

Voting will begin on July 24 and will end Oct. 8 through You can also vote on social media with the hashtag #SweepstakesEntry and your choice of #VoteEverythingBagel, #VoteFriedGreenTomato, or #VoteCrispyTaco.

Still, we’re looking forward to trying all three and seeing which ones taste the best.

McDonald’s Netherlands Has A Supreme Burger With A New York Bagel Bun

McDonald’s locations in the Netherlands are giving their customers a taste of New York.

The fast food chain is selling an exclusive gourmet burger that features a sesame and poppy seed-topped New York style bagel as a bun. Called the New York Bagel Supreme, this artisan burger also contains two beef patties, cheddar cheese, bacon, and coleslaw along with lettuce, pickles, mustard, and ketchup.

A post shared by McDonald’s Nederland (@mcdonaldsnl) on

McDonald’s Netherlands launched the burger just over a month ago and is marketing the Bagel Supreme towards younger audiences, claiming their bagel is “straight out of New York.” While I’m not sure how the bacon and slaw play into that, the bagel is definitely an iconic staple of New York fare.

I wonder if this means we’ll start getting new buns (possibly bagels?) on our burgers in the United States as well. This bagel would definitely do well out here.

West Coast Gets Rainbow Bagels And Here’s Where To Find Them

New York bagel spot, The Bagel Store, has become the spot to hit after they announced the addition of a Rainbow Bagel.

While some are more than happy to hop on a plane to try this multi-colored novelty, others can probably hold off a bit until a similar version comes out in the West Coast.

Guess the wait’s over.

Southern California-based bagel shop, Bagels and Brew, has launched their own version of the rainbow bagel. While it’s set to make it’s debut Saturday, March 19, foodie DailyFoodFeed has already posted a preview of the upcoming item.

Can’t wait to snap some sexy pics of that thing. Bagels and Brew has three locations in SoCal: Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo and Mission Viejo.

Meet The Doughnut That Wants To Be An ‘Everything Bagel’ So Damn Badly

When in a morning rush, sometimes the choice between a bagel or a donut can be a tad overwhelming. What if there was a way to get the delicious fried texture of a donut with the savory flavors of an Everything Bagel?

New York-based doughnut spot The Doughnut Project created a new breakfast pastry they’re calling the Everything Doughnut. It’s made with a cream cheese glaze, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, pepitas, garlic salt and sea salt.

Initial reactions from the doughnut claim that it’s more of the sweeter end than the savory, but overall still pretty tasty.

Definitely need to try this for ourselves. Anyone NYC readers want to send us some?
