PEEPS Slurpees & PEEPS Lattes Are Now At 7-Eleven

Spring is here and we’re officially in Peeps season, folks. Love them or hate them, with the advent of Spring comes such a hype for these little animal-shaped marshmallows that continues to polarize both classrooms and offices alike. Almost as much as candy corn. Almost.

Leaning into the spirit of Peeps, 7-Eleven just released two new beverage options, both inspired by the prolific, ear-forward marshmallow treat.

The first is a Peeps-flavored Slurpee, which the brand has been teasing since February. This marks the first-ever marshmallow-flavored Slurpee from 7-Eleven (what were they waiting for??). Second, Peeps takes the form of a Peeps Latte that’s offered in the hot beverage dispensing machines.

Those looking for a sweet kick of marshmallow should be sure to give these drinks a taste!

Peeps lovers, you can check out these flavors at your local 7-Eleven throughout the month of April. You can also have them delivered for free through 7Now, 7-Eleven’s delivery service, with the promo code FREE4U.

Take a Break With These Sweet Tax Day Restaurant Deals

April is the cruelest month. With lilacs dying off because of the bipolar weather, worrying over an array of tax forms and having an existential crisis as you realize how scant your income has been this past year really puts a damper on things.

However, while you scrounge out those old receipts to find any form of a tax benefit, there are some companies out there that have you in mind.

Whether you need some tropical shaved ice to cool you off or a free pizza with a big ass mouse, this tax day doesn’t have to be as dire as it might seem.

Here are a few spots offering a deal on that fateful Tuesday:

Great American Cookies

The 1977 classically American cookie company is once again sharing some sweetness on a bitter day by giving away one free Cookies & Cream cookie to any individual aware of the deal. Although you don’t need any proof of taxes to receive the cookie, the sullen, groggy, and broken look will fare as evidence.

Hot Dog on a Stick

While it might not be the first place you would run to, Hot Dog on a Stick is still attempting to alleviate any stress the day might bring by offering one veggie or turkey dog to each customer. Nothing amazing, but if you happen to be in a mall and you see one, now you know.

Chuck E. Cheese’s

A post shared by Chuck E. Cheese (@chuckecheeses) on

Okay, this one is amazing. You get an entire large pizza for free with a purchase of one large pizza from April 18-20. I don’t know if you remember these pizzas, but they tasted like how playing Mortal Kombat against the big, sweaty competitive kid and then beating him felt. I mean, you have to have a kid to get in, but that’s not a problem, just go to the Party City that’s invariably across the street and find one.

A post shared by Cinnabon (@cinnabon) on

This one is pretty delicious. Anyone who follows the scent of these succulent little morsels to the source will be treated with two Cinnabon bites. While it might not be worth it to go out of your way to get only two of these tiny little dudes, consider the fact that most of the deals on this page can be found in a mall, so just go to a mall and take in the sweet tax day deals.

Hungry Howie’s

Though locations are sparse, this is a pizza joint on a level above Little Caesars and they’re giving away a one topping medium pizza for 15 cents with the purchase of a one-topping large pizza at regular menu price using the promo code 18TAXDAY. The deal is valid for online carryout purchases only through 4/15-4/17 at participating locations. Can’t really go wrong with pizza for 15 cents.

Piada Italian Street Food

If you’re craving something more Italian than pizza, then look no further than Piada Italian Street Food which will be handing out a free blackberry lemonade with every purchase on Tuesday.

Potbelly Sandwiches

So if you’re on the West Coast this isn’t a great deal, mainly because there are no locations there. However, if you’re close to one of these shops, try to get their app and sign up for their perks program. Customers who sign up for Potbelly Perks by downloading the Potbelly app (iPhone / Android) or online will receive a free sandwich (the free sandwich offer ends until 75,000 sandwiches have been given away). Those already enrolled in Potbelly Perks can enjoy a BOGO Sandwich that will automatically load in to the app for redemption on Tax Day (April 17). For a fast food sandwich joint, this one knows what it’s doing, and what it’s doing is delicious sandwiches.

A post shared by SONIC Drive-In (@sonicdrivein) on

For when you don’t feel like moving too much after you’ve experienced once again how bleak your economic life is, Sonic is the place to go. Without even stepping outside of your car — hell you can even keep the car going and listen to a podcast about why living a healthy life is the key to stability — all while chowing down on a half-priced burger at any time of the day, because this is America.

Kona Ice

A post shared by Kona Ice (@konaice) on

The traditional shaved ice company is hoping to help the hot headed tax payers by offering a free cup of shaved ice on their National “Chill Out” day, which is really just tax day. If you like shaved ice, this aint’ a bad pit-stop on your Tuesday.

Finally, something that’ll actually help everyone in misery. For $6 you can get a pretty average blueberry or pineapple margarita from this fine establishment. Hey think about it, you get a pretty significant amount back for your taxes in a few weeks, right? Just consider it already in the bank and use this time in life to reflect. No better place to do that than Chili’s at like 11 AM, sitting next to a 70 year-old woman wearing stilettos, with a chihuahua in her leather purse, who smells vaguely like your grandmother’s dishwasher.

Well, that’s basically all of the deals you’ll want to consider. I mean there’s other stuff, like Quizno’s, but it isn’t worth it. If you have to be a member of something to get a deal that’ll save you a whopping $4 on an average sandwich, that might just stress you out more.

This Looks Like A Chicken Wing, But You Won’t Believe What This Chef Actually Fried

Korean chef Elliot Taesoon Kahng is known for making awesome recipes on his Instagram. One of his most recent dishes, especially, is pretty ingenious.

As part of an early April Fool’s prank, @taesoon84 took the skins from fried chicken wings and did something amazing with them. After carefully removing the meat and the bone from the wings, the Instagram personality stuffed three different wings with macaroni and cheese, falafel and mashed potatoes, respectively.

He calls them April Fools Fried Chicken.

The faux wings are then floured, beer battered and deep fried. You couldn’t tell they were any different from real chicken wings.

Imagine expecting to bite into a crispy wing and getting a mouthful of mashed potatoes, or the delight of finding macaroni and cheese.

Creme Brulee Is Baskin-Robbins’ Latest Ice Cream Flavor

Baskin-Robbins has announced its newest flavor-of-the-month for April. Spoiler alert: It’s Creme Brûlée.

The new flavor, called Whaddya Say Crème Brûlée, features a custard-flavored ice cream based on the timeless French dessert. Mixed inside are pieces of Creme Brûlée candy and a Creme Brûlée ribbon. Sure, it’d be cooler if each cone was covered in a layer of caramelized sugar. We can’t have everything, right?

Like with all Baskin-Robbins flavors, the new ice cream can be eaten in a cup, cone, or in a sundae. Though we’ve seen many impressive homemade cones that have us second-guessing those options.

Baskin-Robbins’ new flavor is set to make its debut in the month of April. Anyone interested in getting a fast-food version of creme brûlée to satiate their cravings, you read it here first.

Denny’s New Spring Menu Includes Sticky Bun French Toast, Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake, and Baja Quesadilla Burger

The neat thing about Denny’s is it’s super-reliable. You can walk in to any location anywhere at any time and order any manner of pancake, burger, Grand Slam, or what have you. You could go weeks or months without visiting, but it’ll always ready to give exactly what you need. Denny’s is basically your favorite grandparent. In case you do ever feel like changing it up, though (like you decide to grab Denny’s for lunch instead of the typical 2 a.m. munch session), you’ll be pleased to know Ol’ Reliable is still down to learn a couple new tricks.

By “tricks” we mean Denny’s “Monthly Features,” or the closest thing Denny’s may get to a seasonally-driven menu. We stopped by our local location in Santa Ana, Calif. to try out the latest spring-inspired April menu, which includes such nifty offerings as Sticky Bun French Toasts, Avocado BLTs, and Peanut Butter Cup Pancakes

Enjoy our diner-chain-based food porn below:

Sticky Bun French Toast

One of the pre-set items on the Build Your Own French Toast menu. Fluffy toast drizzled in cream cheese, cinnamon sauce, and glazed pecans.

Baja Quesadilla Burger

A beef patty sandwiched with shredded cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, lettuce, and chipotle sauce in a grilled flour tortilla.

Avocado BLT

Four strips of bacon plus lettuce plus tomato and avocado on toasted sourdough.

Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake

Liquid crack in a cup, featuring blended blueberries, cream cheese, and vanilla ice cream.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pancake

Fluffy buttermilk pancakes drowning in chocolate and peanut butter sauce. Surprisingly, not too rich, but just Reeses-like enough.

Avocado Skillet

Avocado-topped chorizo with roasted bell peppers, seasoned potatoes, mushrooms, and onions.

Eggs in a Basket

Re-dubbed from the original Hobbit Hole menu, the Eggs in a Basket is back on the Denny’s menu still as cheesy, eggy and soft as ever.

Shakeless Tic Tacs, Cheetos Cologne and 7 More Heartless 2014 April Fools Pranks to Look Out For

April 1st is upon us once again, so expect to be fooled. Nothing’s worse than finding wonderful news that you read on the internet, only to discover it’s nothing more than a cruel, heartless joke. Since today’s the day a majority of the internet will believe before they read, we hope this little roundup will save you some embarrassment. After all, Foodbeast cares.

Captain Morgan Taco Rum

Captain Morgan Taco Rum

Taco Rum is crafted using fine white rum and Mexico’s freshest meats (beef), cheese (cheddar, jack, Chihuahua) and veggies (green chilies and tomatoes). It’s five times distilled, creating a smooth rum taste that carries an authentic taco flavor. Supposedly, it’s great when paired with tomato juice and garnished with a jalapeño pepper.

Ginsters’ Caviar and White Truffle Pastries

Truffle Caviar

Ginsters announced on their Twitter page that they’ll be releasing their new Caviar and White Truffle Pastry snacks. Each pastry bag is “available” for £14.14 each. If this was real, it would definitely keep you classy on the go. Because no one has time to sit down and eat caviar with white truffle these days.

Cheeteau – Cheetos Cologne

Inspired by the popular snack, Cheeteau boasts buttery notes, accents of sharp cheddar and a touch of lemon to even things out. Apparently you can get a sample if you live the New York area. Just show up at Madison Avenue between 59th and 61st today.

KFC Mighty Mouth Expander

Mighty Mouth Expander

KFC Australia came up with a device to increase the mouth capacity in order to promote the Mighty Burger. Sometimes your stomach longs for something your mouth can’t handle alone. Check the video promoting the Mighty Burger Mouth Expander, a device that extends your mouth to the appropriate size for tackling said burger.

Shakeless Tic Tacs

Shakeless Tic Tacs

A new and innovative design completely removes the infamous “shake” from Tic Tac containers that alert people to bum a Tic Tac from you. Because no one really carries around Tic Tacs to share with others. Each mint contains less than 2 calories.

Netflix Original Films

Sizzling Bacon Netflix

The homepage of Netflix is now sporting a couple “Original Films” entitled Sizzling Bacon and Rotisserie Chicken, respectively. Each movie is 20 and 70 minutes long, respectively, and chronicles the journey (albeit in reverse) of how each dish came to be.

Domino’s Edible Box

Dominos Edible Box

Domino’s UK announced that they’d be introducing their new Edi-Box. Called “A World First in Snackaging Innovation,” the box is made entirely out of crust. Dip it in the garlic and herb sauce and enjoy your double-crusted meal. Embrace the carbs, guys.

Vegemite iDrink 2.1

Vegemite Drink

Australia’s  favorite yeast-based snack is now available in drink form. They brand announced on their Twitter today that their new drink will allow you to swap your toast for the beverage when you’re in a rush or on the go. Packed with B vitamins for vitality.

IKEA Offering All-You-Can-Eat Easter Buffet and Smorgasbord in April

It’s hard not to love IKEA, whether it’s for the cheap furniture, the nostalgia of crawling around a ball pit, or our personal favorite: the horsemeat meatballs and Swedish chocolate. In case you can think of no better way to celebrate Easter than sitting around some funnily-named chairs, the furniture giant is now taking reservations for its annual Swedish Easter All-You-Can-Eat Smörgåsbord on Friday, April 11.

IKEA FAMILY members can save their seats for $9.99 for adults and $2.49 for kids, while non-members are $12.99 for adults and $4.99 for kids. A ticket gets you three courses plus dessert and drinks, with selections including assorted herring, shrimp hardboiled eggs, poached salmon, assorted cheeses and breads, swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, and various Swedish cookies.

Some IKEAs are also offering an Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 20. Details and dates vary by location.

World’s Smallest Cadbury Creme Egg?

Taken as a photo for the month of April of her new calendar, Jessica of I’m So Tiny shows the world what it looks like to break into a Creme Egg that’s several times smaller than a gum drop. Easter was yesterday, but it’s still April, and you really can’t have too many chocolate creme eggs, can you?
