NO SLEEP: Del Taco ‘Inception Burrito’ is Beautiful and Complex

inception-burrito-dry

The idea of an Inception Burrito has been infecting my mind like a parasite ever since the Inception movie launched last year.

I knew eventually, someone had to take the idea of something edible and Inception-ize it, and what better medium than a burrito? With this Inception Burrito, we take major notes from the film, and utilized five different Del Taco menu items to create five dream levels of burrito for you to traverse with every bite. Wait ’till you see my totem on the 4th level of dream state…

DRUNKBEAST: Orange Street Fair 2010 x In-N-Out

Last night some of the crew got their pregame on, then cruised over to the annual Orange International Street Fair for some grub and drinks. For three days the city of Orange closes off their beloved circle and turns it into a melting pot of different nationality food booths. I was too distracted from all the random people to eat, so we headed to In-N-Out after leaving, which as you may know is always a solid choice. Check the gallery after the jump.

Work Band

This post was going to be a commentary about the past work week, what’s to come in terms of the new website, some of our new editors, but I think I’m going to go the David Chase route and end this post like he ended The Sopranos-

Random Times with Elie!

Elie was like, yo blood that sushi was bomb! (But secretly he was thinking, get that shit out my face before I break it)

I’ll blast the shit out of you!

Dunkin Donuts thermal bitch.

Damn, I’m swoll.

Carl's Jr. (Anaheim): Charbroiled Steak Sandwich

This morning during our daily mail call, we got yet another package from our friends at Carl’s Jr. All I can say is these guys are on par with the best of them when it comes to marketing. In our package was safely bundled our tickets to their juicy new Charbroiled Steak Sandwiches and a letter clipped with a memorable, wearable tie! At first, I thought, “the hell?!” Then it clicked, these guys were pushing their new product to be “How guys do fancy“. It worked out perfect, because today’s day workload was rather long and tedious, unshaven and tired…so I grabbed Andrew and headed out to our favorite Anaheim location to try out their new sandwich. More adventure after the jump!

Roscoe's House of Chicken n' Waffles

In the mid 1970s Herb Hudson and his friend Roscoe moved from New York to Hollywood to open one of Los Angeles’ staple restaurants. On October 31st, 2008, a few of us here at Foodbeast decided to embark out of the Orange County bubble and spend halloween night with a few choice musical artists at the Paladium courtesy of the awesome people at PacSun. Following the festivities, it seemed only proper to stumble a few blocks down past all the amazingly dressed Halloweeners littering the streets and get our fried-chicken-and-waffle-fix on. Join us as we tamper with euphoria:

Hong Kong Express

I definitely loves me some St. College. Anyone from Orange County, particularly the area I grew up in around Anaheim/Fullerton/Brea knows that St. College is one of the backbone streets in our neighborhood. It’s littered with banks, shopping centers, and lies…lies…lies! As you can see above, that is a neon sign hanging in the window of “Hong Kong Express”. While nothing inside (besides drinks) was actually priced at a dollar, there was a time, as a child, I remember my mother taking me to this very establishment and we ordered meals for everyone and we indeed only paid 1 dollar a plate. I guess times have changed, but one thing has truly stayed consistent…and that is the amazingness of this place. We’ve got adventure and plenty pictures galore, so read on!
