Papa John Finally Sold Enough Pizza To Join The Billionaire Club

John Schnatter, THE Papa John himself– is now a billionaire, according to Forbes.

With close to 5,000 Papa John locations worldwide, Schnatter saw a 58 percent increase in sales over the last 12 months, officially putting him in the Billionaire Boys Club.

In 1984, Schnatter took over and ran his dad’s Indiana bar, and actually started selling pizzas in the back of the bar. A year later, he opened up his first Papa John location in Jefferson, Indiana, paving the way for the red-shirtted, curly-haired gangster we know and love.

From helping pioneer online pizza ordering in 2001, to holding Peyton Manning’s family captive (probably) during the 2016 Super Bowl, Papa John’s has had a lot of success through technology, innovative pizzas, and memorable commercials.

It also doesn’t hurt that the pizza place is usually near, or at the top of customer satisfaction reports, falling just behind Chick-Fil-A in 2016.


All right, that’s enough praise for pops. Salute to you, sir, for collecting “A Billi,” now you can party with Mark Zuckerberg and the gang.
