McDonald’s Selling Chicken Nuggets You Season Yourself

McDonalds-Shakin-Nuggets

Earlier this year, we reported that McDonald’s was testing seasoned fries at select locations. Now it seems they’re taking the seasoning game up a menu item and testing their Chicken McNuggets. GrubGrade reports via @saconthecheap that a McDonald’s in Sacramento is testing Shakin’ Flavor Chicken McNuggets.

Essentially, all you have to do is order either McNuggets or fries. Then you can choose between three different flavors of seasoning (Spicy Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, or Zesty Ranch) to add to your food. The McNuggets come with a shake bag, customers can add as much or little of the three seasoning flavors they want, shake and chow down.

While it does add a little more work for something that’s supposed to be fast food, it does give customers the option of controlling the amount of seasoning that comes with their food. Just maybe avoid using them while driving, yeah?

Meh, I’ll pass. Including actual spices would be hella expensive, so it will be mostly maltodextrine and other bulk material, just like with popcorn seasonings.

Bleh, blandest fries in all of Fast Food Land IMO. They need all the help they can get. Now if the oil is within its first 3 days after being changed they’re pretty great. Keep in mind, most locations only change the oil of each vat every 9-14 days depending on quality control and the usefulness of some managers. What’s McDs really needs is another side choice from the fryer. Also, unless youi order those nuggets fresh, that seasoning isn’t going to stick to them well.

What they’re really doing is just poorly copying someone’s idea that got it right already years ago; White Castle. Their chicken rings already have that flavoring on them while they’re cooking and tastes great IMO.

Oh! The White Castle chicken rings, yeah. Those are pretty decent.

But the Mickey D’s fries, I dunno, I’ve just always had a thing for them. Truthfully I’m not a huge lover of french fries, but when I want them, I want McDonald’s. Same with chicken nuggets, McDonald’s only. Just a personal preference.

BK ruined their fries by going to those batter-dipped pieces of shit they serve now and Wendy’s ditched their original fries as well, which were pretty freakin’ decent. McDonald’s is the only one out of the 3 top fast food places that have kept their original fries. If Mickey D’s ever changes their fries, that will be the collapse of the fast food industry, LOL
