Back in January, there were reports of an off-duty Santa Clara police officer arrested after having a few too many drinks and being an asshole at the Jack in the Box drive-thru.
NBC reported that sheriff’s deputy Benjamin Lee was charged with “brandishing a gun” as the JITB workers said Lee pulled a gun on him because the line was too long.
Well, a YouTube video surfaced July 22, almost seven months later, claiming that it was Lee’s drive-thru incident.
The video seems to be at the same Santa Clara Jack in the Box and shows the aftermath where police blocked off the drive-thru, pointed their weapons right at the car and slowly cleared everyone out of the vehicle.
Nothing popped off, but the tension was still there as the Santa Clara PD had their guns up and ready to go throughout the entire video.
Santa Clara PD said they weren’t aware that it was Lee at the time of the incident, but wouldn’t have treated him any differently if they had known.
Lee was obviously put on administrative leave while they investigated the matter, but thankfully no one in the situation was hurt.
