Disneyland is Now Serving Mickey-shaped Pumpkin Beignets

disney-pumpkin-beignets

‘Tis the season for everything pumpkin-flavored, so why should Disneyland be any different?

While usually available plain or with powdered sugar, for a limited time the happiest place on God’s green Earth will be serving Pumpkin Beignets. A 3 pack will set you back $4.19 and a 6 pack (obviously) will cost you $7.19.

For those unfamiliar with beignets, think of a square of fried dough eaten hot and sprinkled with confectioners’ sugar — in the case of Walt’s interpretation, the square comes in the form of a Mickey Mouse head.

The limited time items are available at Disneyland’s Mint Julep Bar. Here’s a shot from Facebook user Ebony McCoy:

I hate it too. Should have seen it coming, though. I’ve learned from experience that once websites start changing the comment areas, trying to make things ‘better’, it really only makes things worse (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it) and then you get the public backlash, people bitching and moaning that “this doesn’t work” and “that totally sucks” and all the stuff that comes with it, it eventually becomes overwhelming and they say fuck it and pull the plug on the whole thing.

I’ve also seen it happen – which may be the case with Foodbeast – where they slowly transition people over to a new format with the sole intention of axing comments on their main page. So it’s possible this is how they wanted things to end up from the beginning.

Also, I don’t even visit Foodbeast anymore. Not just because they pulled the public communication feature, but because the site is VERY poorly designed. A 10 year old kid could have done better than that.

only go here when I see your posts as without the “daily recap” emails I dont even think to look at the site:-) I e-mailed them about the reminder e-mails and they never reply (I must have mailed them 10 times!). To me that shows they dont care.

Well thank you, alrui, I appreciate that 🙂

It really sucks Foodbeast is what it is now, but… oh well. Too bad, it was a fun site.
