Sports Catering CEO Caught on Video Battering Dog in an Elevator

When video surfaces of a dog being kicked, you can’t help but cringe and look away. This disturbing video has outraged animal activists and has brought the CEO of a large catering company under fire.

Global News reported that Desmond Hague, chief executive of Centerplate, was the man in the video. Hague was in the elevator of the Private Residences at Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver, and the video shows him violently pulling on the dog’s chain and repeatedly kicking the dog.

Hague made a statement apologizing for the incident, saying it was “out of character” and that he had become frustrated with his friend’s dog. However, further investigation by the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals found that the dog was Hague’s and not a friend’s. The SPCA said “Sade,” a Doberman Pinscher, behaved in a way that led them to believe it had received that type of treatment before.

According to ESPN, Centerplate provides its food services to over 115 million people a year through more than 300 different venues, including several professional sports franchises such as the Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, and Indianapolis Colts.

Animal activists have already called for a boycott of Centerplate and sports fans have said they would not be buying food from any of Centerplate’s concessions.

The incident is still being investigated and if charged with animal cruelty, Hague could face up to two years in jail.

The SPCA confirmed that Sade is OK and is in a safe, undisclosed location.

well that cnut needs to be put on a lead and booted a bit, if you can find the vid of the guy who punched and kicked his dogs retribution it shows karma ain’t a bitch its a huge skinhead with big old boots on

That’s because I didn’t personally watch the video, so I don’t care what his/her opinion is on whether or not the asshole “barely touched” the dog. That was beside my original point anyway. And his/her comment did NOT sucker me into watching it.

Exactly. I’ve seen dogs yanked and hit harder than that during police and military dog training sessions. The dog is not any worse for the wear after this little elevator ride.

I know you are probably self righteous and would never admit that it really isn’t anything to get worked up about because it is just a dog but ask yourself if you honestly should be more angry at this guy or more angry at the lunatics on this comments thread who want to do bodily harm to another human.

If you saw that type of behavior you should have reported it….but you didn’t did you?? That dog has injuries you cannot see idiot…both anxiety and physical internal ones. It is the attitude of people like you that animal and human abuse continues in this world. Shame on you. I hope you get sent back to another life after you leave this one and end up being the pet of a person like Desmond Hague of Centerplate….and you endure the helplessness of an animal without a voice. Jerk!!

Did you even read my post properly , at what point did i say barely touched , if you read my statement properly it advocates retribution for the guys actions , im taking a guess that you are worked up in frenzy and cant do the thinking stuff properly.

Because he is a being that is able to think his actions out , the dog on the other hand , as much of a sentient being it is does not know what its done , cannot comprehend why its being kicked and beaten .
I’m presuming , that you would like to say tell him off and maybe fine him .

I didn’t watch the video. I can’t. I know how it is with stuff like this… what’s seen cannot be UNseen and I don’t want that visual in my head for the next 6 months. Just reading the description is enough.

But I have to be honest and say that as much as I’m angered by this incident, I’m JUST as angry at Food Beast for posting it in the first damn place. What the FUCK does this have to do with food??? I come here to see lighthearted funny shit and new food-type inventions and read ridiculous stories about crazy goings-on in the culinary world –

I guarantee you this dog has internal injuries, and has constant fear, and anxiety because of this idiot’s abuse of him! Maybe someone should put a leather collar around your neck put tape over your mouth so you can’t speak, and have someone 5 or 6 times your size pull you up by the throat, while kicking you in the side over and over!!!

Um, actually I’ve seen children hit worse than that in public and nobody even cares.

Explain to me how our culture can be so violent and yet people get so outraged over a dog being kicked.

And seriously, dogs can be very delicious if cooked right. Next time you are in Asia I dare you to try some and then disagree with me.

We must be their voice and they are living, feeling creatures just like us. They are God’s creatures too and we should care about all living creatures you idiot!! Also these abusers end up abusing children and people, and some go on to murder! What is wrong with you??
