Chocolate Chilli Mustard

Combining three seemingly unrelated ingredients into one sauce, Chocolate Chilli Mustard utilizes the ingredients listed in the title to create one ridiculous spread. Suggested as a marinade for chicken or game, but also equally usable as a dip, sandwich spread or for dolloping on your roast during dinner time. But chocolate? I might have to be sold on this one…

The spread is made from Belgian chocolate, with the recipe apparently originating from Central America. The unit weighs 6.3 ounces and measures approximately 6.2 cm in diameter and 9 cm high.

If you’re not up for spreading this sauce on your sandwich, or using it in your marinades, I’m guessing the flavor might surprise you if dipped with some apple slices, maybe some pretzels or even carrots. But who are we to tell you how to use it? (£5.99 @ FireBox / Thx IncredibleThings)

TABASCO Family Reserve Bottle

Founded in 1868 by the McIlhenny family, TABASCO is the hot sauce brand name known by eaters across the world for its combination of tabasco peppers, vinegar, salt and its three year white oak barrel aging process.

Every year, a portion of the finest peppers grown on Avery Island, Louisiana (home to TABASCO headquarters) are hand-selected by members of the McIlhenny family based on their superior color, texture and robustness. These peppers are then mashed with a small amount of Avery Island salt, and aged beyond the standard three year process in white oak barrels, sometimes up to eight years.

The Family Reserve pepper mash is then blended with premium white wine vinegar, strained and bottled as a small independent batch traditionally been available only to McIlhenny family members and close family friends. On occasion, a limited edition of this “full-bodied” sauce is specially packaged and made available to the public in a 5 oz. Bottle. ($24.95 @ Tobasco Country Store)

Is Nabisco Testing a “Triple Double OREO” Variety?

In a rather interesting episode of FOODIE LEAKS, a friend of someone who does “pre-release product testing for Nabisco,” acquired this picture of Triple Double OREO packaging. Reddit user Palooz was quick to share the wealth, with the outer packaging telling the tale of a multiple-level, double decker Oreo with a level of chocolate creme and a level of white creme.

For Oreo fans, this supposed looming product is a dream come true. Until we get further, official word from Nabisco, we’ll count this news as a rumor. An interesting, and tasty rumor.
