Ben & Jerry’s to Release Greek Frozen Yogurt Line

Ben & Jerry’s has hinted at a tentative new addition to their ever-expanding ice cream empire: a new line of Greek frozen yogurt.

Although the ice cream conglomerate still remains hush-hush about the product launch, reports from The Huffington Post indicate that the new offering has already trickled down to a few select supermarket chains. Delectable flavors such as Banana Peanut Butter, Raspberry Fudge Chunk, Blackberry Vanilla Graham Cracker, Strawberry Shortcake, and tried-and-true vanilla are expected to line grocery aisles soon.

The strategic expansion makes sense: over the last 5 years, Greek yogurt sales have risen over 2500%.

B&J has invited media outlets to a February 22 event promising to divulge something “really Greekin’ good.” In the meantime, if you need to satiate your froyo craving ASAP, then go ahead and check out this review of Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Shortcake Greek Frozen Yogurt, via Junk Food Guy.

Here’s What Instant Ramen Looks Like In Your Stomach

I’ll have to issue a forewarning for all you college students and culinary bums: this video may put a damper on your late-night love affair with instant ramen.

For her presentation at TEDxManhattan, media artist Stefani Bardin collaborated with Dr. Branden Kuo, a Harvard gastroenterologist, to create footage contrasting the digestive journey between processed and unprocessed foods.

In order to capture the footage, subjects ingested a device known as the SmartPill, a small capsule containing sensors that measured the pressure and pH value of the gut. They also swallowed the woefully-named Mouth 2 Anus (M2A) Capsule, a 26mm pill comprised of a video camera, LED, and bluetooth capabilities.

Here is the messy, gloopy product of their findings:

Ever Wanted To Grub Next To The Base of a Waterfall?

If your dining experience is in dire need of some serious novelty, mosey on over to the Villa Escudero Resort in the Quezon province of the Phillipines, where tourists and guests eat their lunch at the foot of the Labasin Falls.

At the aptly-titled Waterfall Restaurant, the cascade literally floods the floor beneath your feet, and visitors are encouraged to take off their shoes, to wade in the water, and to get as close as possible to the crashing falls. Channel your inner TLC!

Contaminated Eggs Recalled From 34 States

You may want to think twice about that seemingly harmless egg salad at the grocery store deli.

Minnesota-based food distribution giant Michael Foods has recalled over a million hard-cooked eggs due to possible listeria contamination. Although Michael Foods does not sell directly to retailers, the cooked and peeled eggs were sold to many distributors, manufacturers, and food service companies, leading to the recall of prepackaged sandwiches and salads, as well as the following brand of eggs: Columbia Valley Farms, GFS, Glenview Farms, Papetti’s, Silverbrook, and Wholesome Farms.

Listeria contamination can lead to listeriosis, an infection that occurs from the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes. Symptoms include gastrointestinal infection, nausea, fever, and diarrhea. Although not debilitating for the healthy adults, listeriosis can be serious for young children, adults over 50, adults with a weakened immune system, and pregnant women.

The 34 states that have been affected by this recall are as follows: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Frosted Footwear — High Heel Cupcakes

In the renowned words of viral YouTube sensation, Kelly, circa 2006: “Shoes. Shoes. Oh my god, shoes.

Here’s a way shoe fetishists and fashionistas alike can savor and enjoy a well-designed pump without breaking out the Dr. Scholls.

In their new cookbook, Cupcakes, Cookies & Pie, Oh My!, cupcake connoisseurs Alan Richardson and Karen Tack present a playful new take on the sugary confection with several sweet pairs of sprinkled sky-high platforms. As one of those girls with a mildly gluttonous obsession for shoes, I heartily approve.
