A couple of weeks back, a handful of us here at Foodbeast decided to hit Old Town Orange to get our hands on some good old fashion BBQ! Known for its mouth watering dishes and relaxed college atmosphere, Beach Pit Barbeque is one of the many joints you have to eat at when you’re in Old Town Orange. Check it out after the jump!
With the month of June upon us, if you’re acquainted with young people, you’ll undoubtedly be visiting quite a few graduation parties this time of year. In my case, this past week I’ve been barraged with several, all of which displaying their respective cake prowess.
Of all the cakes I tried, not a one featured God’s gift to desserts — Nutella! Thankfully, this photo of Chocolate Sheet Cake with Nutella Icing will have to tide me over!
This simple cinnamon and chocolate sheet cake is made unique with a Nutella exterior that consists of sweetened condensed milk and butter! You could server this cake chilled, but I’d prefer it room temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! What you think? (Recipe @ MissInTheKitchen)
Two is always better than one and I’ll prove it to you right now. What’s better then having cooked green beans…? Having green beans wrapped in bacon! I should have studied to become a lawyer with those analytical skills… these Green Bean Bacon Bundles are the combination of two unlikely ingredients married together with an unrivaled swagger.
Want to make these for yourself? To start off, bundle together a handful of green beans with a thick piece of bacon. Make the glaze you want to brush onto your bacon bundles in a separate pan with a little butter, brown sugar and garlic. Throw some salt and pepper on these bad boys before you put them in the oven and you got finger food for a king. (Thx HowSweetItis)
Is there anything better than splurging on a meal that will bring a healthy man deathly close to a diabetic coma? I mean…we did just celebrate National Donut Day with The 13 Most Ridiculous Donuts yesterday, but this Strawberry Jam Blast Shaved Ice Bowl is a sugar wet dream waiting to happen.
This Strawberry Jam Blast Shaved Ice Bowl is filled to the brim with shaved ice, a whole orchard of strawberries and is literally dripping with condensed milk! We got this bad boy at our local Guppy Tea House! If you ever want some delicious desserts, mouth watering dishes or some refreshing tea and boba, make sure to stop by and check them out!
O, how times have changed. If you would have described some of the dishes you see today to your grandparents, or actually offered it to them, they would probably think you’re going crazy… I wouldn’t blame them though, Bacon Wrapped Chocolate Covered Oreos & Chocolate Covered Mac & Cheese?
In the case of these Chili Chocolate Chip Cookies, we get to explore both savory heat and tooth-aching sweet in one complete bite.
This particular recipe calls for a mixture of different spices including chili powder, cinnamon and even cumin or paprika if you’re feeling extra adventurous! Alongside the spices are basic ingredients for a cookie like sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate chips and butter! Maybe a little bit of heat with a chocolate chip cookie doesn’t sound half bad? Throw in some cold vanilla ice cream too? Brilliant! (Thx RockRecipes)
I always associate toasted marshmallows with having no other purpose other then being the main ingredient for s’mores. Thankfully, Tracy is training our brains to think outside the box and teach us that marshmallows can be used for more than just for making s’mores…Like for instance her Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake!
This milkshake incorporates toasted marshmallows, vanilla ice cream, vanilla extract and milk to reach its smooth and thick consistency. As for the toppings, skewer a handfull of marshmallows and toast them on your stove as an extra treat on top of that shake! (Recipe @ JoyTheBaker)
Deep-fried pig skins, covered in chocolate bark…who would have thought? Sweet, savory, crunchy, airy, all-in-one? To tell you the truth, I’m not too mad at the concept. You go Becky. True FOODBEAST.
All I hear on the radio these days are famous rappers singing about money, cars and women. If I was a platinum rapper, only thing I would be rapping about is food! My double-platinum hit single would be undoubtedly about this Chocolate Cheesecake with Caramel Ganache!
Who wouldn’t want to hear a song about cake? This is simple: a cheesecake that has been married with Double Stuffed Oreo Cookies, milk chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, dulce de leche and lined with toasted pecans! (Thx MissInTheKitchen Recipe @ Doughmesstic.net)
